okay, I was hoping that someone could help us out. Kim and I recently got engaged about a month ago. And things have been busy this past month and we really haven't looked at many catering halls yet. Starting next month we are going to get busy with the wonders of planning and we weren't sure how much money we would need to book the hall. Could anyone help us? Much appreciated!!!
They are all different I guess the most $1000. They will explain it. GOOD LUCK.

It varies by hall. Most places will be willing to hold the date for you for up to a week w/no charge and then you would leave a deposit when you sign your contract. Our deposit was $2000, some places we looked at required $1000. It is something you can ask when you go looking, but I'd be prepared for at least $2k. HTH!

Just a reminder! If you book in nassau and for any reason, wish to pay them more money earlier than they need it... there is no law in nassau saying that they have to give ANY of it back to you... Just something to think about when booking! If I was closer to suffolk, i woulda booked out there!

Some ask you to guarantee a certain amount of guests and you pay half of that... we left a $7,000 deposit because I guaranteed 80 people. It all depends on the hall.. mine is not they typical wedding hall so I may be different from everyone else...

Yeah, i would assume they do things differently! Mine asks for an inital deposit and then 2 payments and then a final payment like a week before the wedding

mine is 1000 down and then 1000 every other month for 4 payments.. so the total downpayment is 5,000. and then the balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding

We put down $1500 and we have to give another $2500 in Oct. then nothing until 6 months before the wedding.
