Deposit refunds for flowers

Thank goodness I am asking this for a friend. If you book a florist and then two weeks after you give the deposit go and see their work and hate it, are you stuck for the deposit that you gave the florist? The contract says you are stuck for the deposit but I was wondering if that was really true or if there was a way around it?

After I find out the information and then find out what happens, I will give you the scoop on what a vendor has done to my friend.

I changed my mind on my original florist. Lost the $50 deposit - no big deal. But $50 isn't too much....how much was her deposit?
