deposits

Hey girls,

What kinds of deposits did you have to put down for things like DJ/Band, photog/video, flowers, limos?

Not sure how much cash I'll have to have on hand at once, ya know?

we put $1000 on photo/video and $500 on limos... thats all we did so far

My band wanted a $2500 deposit and then the entire balance half hour before the wedding ends.

I know the dj i met with wanted 500 now and no other payment until the day of

I cannot remember what the photographer wanted. I was still in shock over the price LOL

The florist was asking for 300 now and payment 4 weeks before.

My band and photographer both wanted a $1000 deposit. Florist wanted $200.

We put down:

1500 for RH
500 for DJ
2100 for photo/video

$750 for DJ
$350 for Video
$1500 for Photo
$175 for Officiant

were any of you able to put your deposits on credit cards or did all of yoru vendors require check/cash?

We were told we could put the first deposit on credit card, but everything after that had to be cash or check.. and that seemed to be pretty standard for most of the places we went to.

we put 2500 on the RH and DJ we put 500 but I know the dj said he could work with us if we couldnt put down that much. If you dont have it ask them to put down what you have they shouldnt give you a problem

well I just came from meeting with photography)and they wanted 10% which was 530....RH I am doing small monthly payments of 750.....

FH and I put down the following:

RH: 1500
DJ: 1000
Flowers:200
Photographer/video: wants 600 (still thinking about them!)

many vendors I have spoke to /met would prefer cash or check

depends on the vendors. Some do not mind credit, others prefer cash or cashiers check. It really depends on the vendors, just ask them their preference of payment. HTH
