Deposits to Vendors!!!!!!!

After seeing posts in regards to florist and photographers running with a significant amount of $$$ from brides... How much is reasonable or too much???

Listed below is what my potential vendors are asking::::

Photographer - $150
Videographer - $100
DJ - 30% of package
Florist - flexible
Limo - i didnt look into this yet, please let me know

Im soo sorry for the brides who lost over $1k.. this is sooo scary for people to do that to us, esp since its a recession and we are getting married and need every $$ right now.

I paid
$1000 for my photo/video. The total package is 4800.00.

Dj - 400 of 2600.00

that seems about right... for us it was

Photographer - 10% of total
DJ - 25% of total
Florist - original florist I left $300 but since we won't talk about her anymore... the new florist didn't ask for a deposit to make up for what the other florist did.
Limo - they said we could leave whatever. Total was $1350 and we left $350 so an even $1000 was owed

I think those deposits sound more than reasonable. We gave...

Band - 1700
Photographer - 50% of total
Florist - 360
Limos - haven't tackled yet

We gave these deposits:

Photo/videographer: $500
DJ: $400
RH: $1000

DJ - $100
Venue - 20%
Photography - $100

I gave :

Photographer/Videographer - $500 (5400 TOTAL)
DJ - $500 (2600 TOTAL)
Florist - $50 (1800 TOTAL)

That sounds reasonable:

RH - $1,500
Band - $1,500
Photo: 30%

We booked DJ & Photographer so far

RH - $1000 then payment plan
DJ - $500 and balance due the night of the wedding
Photographer - 1/3 down, optional 1/3 in Janurary and balance 4 wks after the wedding when you pick up your proofs.

our deposits:

Photo/video: 1750 (1/3 package price)
DJ: $250
Limos 20%

RH - $1,000 deposit then $1,000 every other month payment plan
Limo - $400
Photo/Video - $1,000
Florist - $350
DOC - $100
DJ - $750

I think that's about all the deposits we have put down so far.

My deposits

Photo/Video- $1,000-Total is $4,800
DJ-$600-Total is $2,300
Limo-$1,100-Total-$3,042

The florist is a family friend so they don't really need a deposit from us.

we gave:
1500 to photographer
and half the dj bill because we got uplighting and it was pricey
...ive been a slacker so thats all im up to at this point :)

limo - he gave us the option of how much to leave as a deposit
