Design Session with Jack & Rose

I had my design session with jack this weekend and it went great. I went in with no idea what I wanted but it all came together and now I'm really excited about my flowers.

I just find it crazy how some of these bigger florists are booked for the next two months, you can't even get a consultation!!

I have J&R as well and I haven't booked my design session as yet. He said that I had to get a swatch of material and I don't have that yet. Do I need it before I go or should I just make it anyway?

I brought with me a tiny piece of fabric from the inside of one of the bridesmaid dresses (the company I got my dress from did not provide swatches). You could probably go without anything but it definately helps to see something with the color of the dresses there.

My BM dresses are due in at the end of may. So I will def have a swatch when they come in and have the alterations done. Do you think that may is too late for the session for a wedding in Aug?

I would DEFINITELY bring a swatch. My sister didnt use J&R, but her florist was able to create the most beutiful boquts in a color that really popped agisnt the BM colors. It was PERFECT> It's one thing to describe a color and another thing to have it in your hands. Don't go w/o a swtach. Also, may isn;t too late 4 august. My sister went a month ahead, and had no problems at all, but that may depend on the florist.

I was wondering, my BM dresses won't be in until late June. early July...is this too late to go for a design session. I see a lot of you going earlier on

Ok I'm going to try to answer all the questions:

He does not keep the swatch.

Yes, you should bring a swatch. I'm so glad I did. You should also bring a pic of the dress. I had one but forgot to bring it.

Yes I brought my grandma and FMIL to the design session. FH was going to come with me but had to do stuff in the house last minute.

If you know when the swatches are coming in try to make the appointment now for around the time the swatches come in. He books up fast. Also, I went March 20 for my May 16 wedding. We did everything in a few hours, so I don't have to go back again.

I'm still trying to book my design session. Jack's away this week, so hopefully we'll get it done next week. Luckily, the BM's dresses are here, so I'll be able to show him.

August04: I thought I was going to have 2 but we were able to get everything done in one. I was so happy about that since I really have no weekend days available.

Butterfly: If you can do it now and have the swatches ready I would do it now. That way you don't have to worry about it during the 'crunch' time.
