Designer shoes - anyone actually buy Manolos or Jimmy Choos for wedding day?
Original post by johnsae
I know they are ridiculous prices, but has anyone worn a designer shoe on their wedding day? Wondering if they are just as uncomfortable as the cheaper shoes. I kind of want to splurge and buy Manolos for my big day.
Anyone have pics of their designer shoes?

I bought a pair of Stuart Weitzman's (that I will eventually dye black b/c I love them) and they were extremely comfortable. More comfortable than most of the evening shoes I have.
I saw BEAUTIFUL ones by Kate Spade that I am in love with.. and like dkwife, I plan to dye them black after. I don't buy heels often (nice ones, anyway....) so if I have to wear them for that long, I'm gonna splurge! And I'll always have them! Black never goes out!

i'm splurging on so much other stuff that ANOTHER splurge just ends up in a revolving charge-and that's not good--avoiding that at all costs. plus designer shoes are usually on the higher more uncomfortable side-but they are are pretty!

Mine were pretty expensive, but comfy. I got them from Myglassslipper.com. I forget the brand..
But be careful because mine were a satin or silk material (I don't remember clearly) and was told I can not dye them because of that.

OMG! only if I wanted to torture myself!!
those shoes pinch your feet! they are toe crunchers and very high.
I'm leaving those shoes for Sarah Jessica Parker to wear

I wore Stuart Weitzman (about $250) shoes on my wedding day and I've worn those same shoes quite a few times after my wedding. I wore silver shoes though.
Shoes in the $400 -$800 are out of my price range but if you can why not!! Actually my wedding shoes are the most expensive pair of shoes I own, not including boots.
Here's a black and white photo:
ETA: They are amazingly comfortable shoes. I have worn less expensive shoes though that are just as comfortable though.

This is one of the few things that I am totally splurging on for the wedding I am not getting 'wedding' looking shoes, but a great pair, no matter how colorful, b/c they will be under my dress. I plan on wearing them again, for years. I can't think of a better excuse to spend $500-$900 on a single pair of shoes...FH would die if I bought them any other time Jane

I say, if you have the extra cash, why not go for it! It's your day, make it extra special.
Ususally the more expensive shoes are made from better quality materials, which is more comfortable for your feet.
I'm going to My glass slipper in the city next week and I'm thinking of buying Melbo's. They can run from $200.00 to $400.00. My fiance is going to kill me..

I tried manolos and jimmy choos -- but found them extremely uncomfortable. I wore a pair of stuart weitzman and they were very comfy (and a lot cheaper than the others ones) -- i didn't care who made them, I just wanted them to be comfortable since I have a wide foot

I love shoes and I bought Manolos for the wedding. The first picture is of a very similar pair - except mine was in white (got it dyed ivory) and slingback (I wouldn't be able to wear laceup ones on my wedding day!). I plan to have them dyed black after the wedding (see 2nd picture) so I can wear them again. The greatest part of the story is that I got a great deal on eBay and only paid $130 for them (they're unworn)! They have minor wear and tear since one of them was a floor sample, but totally not noticeable.

got a beautiful beaded pair of shoes by alberta ferreti. only spent $50 and i don't think i would have paid much more than that since they're ivory and probably can't be dyed b/c of the beading.

I was planning on getting a pair of Jimmy Choos for my wedding. I am going into the city in a few weeks (to the actual store) because they have a larger selection than the ones out here. However, I agree with everyone on the price and comfort level. I will try on some, but if they feel extremely uncomfortable, I will not buy them. Also, I have silver beading at the top of my dress and was thinking about getting a silver sandal as opposed to an ivory, which is the color of my dress. Than way I can justify spending the extra money . I also plan on buying a pair of flip-flops to wear for the reception.

I cant see spending all that money on shoes that no one will see. In fact, one of the shoes posted here looks just like the ones I bought and I paid 46 bucks!

No way would spend that much on shoes for one day. I'm going for comfort and comfort only! No one will be looking at my shoes. I'd rather spend the extra money on jewelry or my dress
