Designer shoes - anyone actually buy Manolos or Jimmy Choos for wedding day?

I know they are ridiculous prices, but has anyone worn a designer shoe on their wedding day? Wondering if they are just as uncomfortable as the cheaper shoes. I kind of want to splurge and buy Manolos for my big day.

Anyone have pics of their designer shoes?

JMO, but no- I would not splurge like that on a pair of shoes that no one will really see for any period of time. I'd rather splurge on a really nice piece of jewelry.

I'm also not a big shoe person.....(but I love diamonds....)

Seriously your shoes are gonna be under your dress and unseen for most of the day. I'd put that $$$ towards your wedding ring or the pictures, what you're going to have for the rest of your life. I'm also not a big shoe person, I just don't think it makes sense.

if i can wear the pair of shoes again, i wouldn't mind. but if it's just for this ONE time, i wouldn't.

I actually bought a pair of vera wang's on Ebay but they wouldn't match my dress so I sold them back.

that might be pushing it

just a note too- i can wear mine again. i probably won't all the time, but because they are peach i can wear them for our anniversary and they won't look like 'wedding shoes'

this made the cost a little more reasonable to me

I bought a pair of Stuart Weitzman's (that I will eventually dye black b/c I love them) and they were extremely comfortable. More comfortable than most of the evening shoes I have.

It's totally up to you, but just keep in mind when your taking pictures that day your -- walking in the grass (grass stains), dirt (or if it rains-mud).

And probably the only time will be for the picture with your shoe, invitation and Bo-K, getteing ready and if you do the garter thing your shoes may show.

OMG -- I've been debating this too!! I can't decide which I want and am leaning towards the Jimmy Choo (I've done extensive polling here at work where all the girls are shoe crazy and the consensus is that the Choos are more comfy).
JMO--I've never owned a pair either, but I think that comfort is a MAJOR factor that day and shoes are worth splurging for.
Also, I plan on dying them black after and will definitely wear them again!!

My sister in law bought Stuart Weitzman and she said it was the best 250.00 that she spent. She was on her feet for about 12 hours and they did nto even hurt!!!

I bought a pair of Cynthia Rowley's on myglassslipper.com. Just waiting for them to arrive. Got them for half price on line. I hope they fit! They were more than I wanted to spend, but I can dye them and then I can keep wearing them.

Just becasue you can't see the shoes, don't let that be a reason for someone to talk you out of it! Shoes are so instrumental in how you feel while walking around! I know that bridal sneakers are going to be the most comfortable thing on my wedding, but I would not wear them for the simple fact that I would not FEEL dressed up in them. I think that alot of designer shoes (manolos especially) can be very confortable - for $400 bucks, they best be!

If you want the designer shoes, you go for it - I'll be following in your footsteps in a few weeks and getting a pair...

I am likely to buy such shoes... but I love shoes and I don't plan on wearing them just for one day.

Instead of white/ivory, I think I may get a very light champagne colored shoe, if I can find one... I'd like an open toe shoe anyway, so you won't see that much color, and besides, my dress does have a champagne sash around the waist.

I love shoes. And if you are like me, it doesn't matter if people 'see' them and know they're designer shoes - what matters is how they make you feel.

Yes, it's about how I feel in them - you're exactly right!
