Desperate MOH needs help planning a bachelorette party - LI Wine Tour

My sister wants to have a wine tour, dinner and stay at a hotel with about 15 girls.

I am getting quotes for around $140pp for the tour and limo and then around $280 a night for 4 girls in one room.

Is this right??? At the end of the day/night each girl will be spending at least $300 for this event.

Has anyone either hosted or attended a wine tour bachelorette party? Can you tell me if these prices sound right?

I would truly appreciate any help.

Thanks!

I've hosted a wine tour on a limo bus. It turned out to be a lot cheaper to book the limo myself not do one that is specifically for a wine tour. Then I made reservations at 3 vineyards but only because it was a large group of 20 of us... I based the timing on staying at each for an hour plus the estimated travel time. Everyone then bought their own wine tastings as they pleased, so they could spend as much or as little as they wanted on top of the limo.

I'm doing this for my MOH's bachelorette in a few weeks. I believe it was $250 per girl for the tour (there are only 5 of us) and it includes 3 vineyards, lunch, snacks, and pick up/drop off in Queens (which drove the cost up). I actually think you're getting a good deal!

Library cafe does one out of Farmingdale. Includes food as well. I think it's under $100

whatever you do, DO NOT BOOK with http://www.livineyardtours.com/ they are a scam- their bus broke down 5 times on the highway, they showed up 2.5 hours late because the bus broke on the way to picking us up, and we had to pay the guy at the first wine stop in cash, and after counting the money out in front of him, he came to us an hour later and said we were 300 dollars short. Then we found out he isn't a licensed bus driver and called the cops. Needless to say, he was very cooperative when the cop came and bought us 3 bottles of wine of our choice. I looked them up online when I got home and loads and loads of people had the exact same experience to the T. So do not book with them, my FH's bday was ruined and he almost got in a fist fight with the driver.

I heard if you call Camelot limos that they have good pricing for stuff like that- then you just pick 3 of your own vineyards and pay for your wine tastings there, so that the girls can buy as much or as little as they want.

East Wind does one but I think it has a max of 14 people. You can give them a call and ask about it, my friend booked one for the summer!

WOW! I booked my best friends bach party through them in 2011 and I guess we got really lucky! They were fantastic with us. The limo was clean and on time and our driver was awesome... Counting my lucky stars!!!

I plan a wine tour every year for a sorority alumnae event for the past 6 or 7 years. It's never more than $100 per person. This year we have 16 girls, booked the limo on our own (20 passenger SUV) and are going to Martha Clara, Pindar, Baiting Hollow, and 48 all for $95 per person including gratuities. Try using Red Carpet Limo, he's really good and has beautiful vehicles and he will match any competitor's price. You can tell him I recommended you, I use him for everything. He also offers wine tours for $105/person I think, but you have to go to vineyards he already has relationships with. I'm pretty sure they were good, but we specifically wanted to go to the ones I mentioned because we always have the most fun there (we're not too interested in the quality of the wine.)

For the hotel - it sounds like a lot to me, I guess it depends on where you are staying. I don't really know any LI hotels that are that expensive per night unless it's the Garden City Hotel. Even if you got a room for $200/night, that's $50 per girl and if you had the rate I mentioned above that's only $150 per person plus dinner. FM if you need any help, I plan these types of events all the time.
