I looked into this and found that going directly to the Hotel or resort chain would many times get you better deals.
For example- Riu hotels offer a basic wedding package for free in certain resorts so long as you stay there more than a certain amount of days.
Other resorts will give you a discount for the wedding package and good group rates for your guests...

It all depends on where you are thinking of..

We had a destination wedding, but we put it together ourselves. The ceremony location/reception location and hotel were not at all connected. We did look at a lot of hotels that have wedding packages where your ceremony/reception are on the premises. Where are you looking?
