DH and I made dinner together last night

OK so he really made it but I'm not nearly as good a cook as he is! We cooked shrimp wrapped in bacon and he made a white wine sauce to go over the shrimp.

It was delicious! It's so nice being married to someone went to culinary school!

That is awesome. I saw that shrimp wrapped in bacon on the Food Network the other day and I was drooling. I am sure it was delicious last for you.

I didn't even think I'd like the bacon on it but I loved it!!

can you post the white wine sauce recipe??

I will ask him tonight - even though I watched him prepare it, he doesn't measure anything out so I have to ask him how much of everything he thinks he put in.

But I can tell you the ingredients:

1 pint heavy cream (not sure if he used the whole thing)

butter

vidalia onion (like 1/2 of one) chopped up

Gallo white wine (chardonnay) - I would say he used about 3/4 cup - maybe even just 1/2 cup

1 or 2 cloves garlic

You can also use shallots - he told me to buy them if I could find them but the store didn't have any.

I'll let you know the rest tomorrow.

If I didn't have the tiniest kitchen in the western world, I'd cook more. I actually enjoy it alot but it's just too small and too hot to do anything in the kitchen we have.
DH normally makes the basics - chicken or a roast, veg and potatoes. He would love to do more but again, too small. He cooks more than I do but he's home earlier than I am, and he's cooked the meals in his house from the time he was 12 until his father remarried 5 years ago (and then he moved here) so he's used to it. I ain't complaining!
However I do make meals from time to time and have taught him a thing or two as well!

I can't wait until we get a house - he wants a gourmet kitchen with a top of the line stove and a big island in the middle with all the pots & pans hanging over it.

He's too cute!
