So i came into work on Tuesday morning and my desk was decorated and my co-workers had collected money for the wedding ... i was extremely touched since i wasn't expecting anything (especially not 2 days after the wedding )
I told DH and he was expecting to go into his office on Wed (he was off Mon & Tues) to a mini-shower
i think it's cute that he's upset / jealous that his job didn't do anything ... poor guy

we're the opposite. fh kinda expects his co-workers to throw him a mini-shower (they're amazing like that)
mine wouldn't even think to... none of them have even rsvp'd to the wedding and they seem oblivious to the fact that i am getting married.
i can just imagine the questions i'm going to get when i tell them i need the day off and the following week off.
'well why do you need to take off the day before?' - because i need to finish stuff 'well why wouldn't you be done already?'
then
'why do you need a week off after?' -because we're going on our honeymoon 'but why??'
i'm going to wait till its closer to the wedding to bring it up.

same here! but THANKFULLYYYYY my boss was 'in love' at that time and was super nice and generous about if i needed anytime off the week before the wedding. i didnt tell them until that week that i wanted to take a few days off before. lol. but it totally worked out - thankfully!!
....as for a work shower....i got fattening, oily, cheesy pizza and pastries 3 days before the wedding. lol. thanks.....???
