I agree with what many ladies have said about having one that DH will carry--and he is all set to pick one out--- but where to look--
what brands hold up better, etc---

Re: Diaper Bags
Well, being that I've been told that my diaper bag will replace my purse, I'll probably end up getting a few. I've heard great things about the ones from I'm Still Me and they have a lot of different fabric choices. This is one of my faves:
This is a cute one from Old Navy
And of course, I'm all over this to add to my collection which is actually just a tote but the same dimensions as the Kate Spade diaper bags, so why not?
DH will have his own bag. The tan and blue Eddie Bauer one. Very man friendly

Re: Diaper Bags
this is mine...
It's made by Petunia Picklebottom - so far so good!
ETA: Some good qualities...
It has a few pockets inside - I think two that would fit bottles, and two on the outside that fit bottles/cellphone. These pockets are deep so you can push things down in there that won't fall out. There is a little pouch inside that zippers and is removeable. I am not sure what that is for - Maybe dirty diapers? There's a clip in the lining inside for your keys so no digging...
And the piece rolls out so there is always someplace clean to change the baby.
What I DONT like is that it can be a backpack so I took those straps off cause I hate backpacks, and the silver rings for those straps don't come off - so they are still on the back. Its not a big deal I guess, and maybe I can clip toys to it at some point or something.
I'm waiting as we speak for this one from Kate Spade that I won off e-bay!!!!! It is the one on the right.

This is so true. Which is why I went with the Kate Spade.

Re: Diaper Bags
I suggest you get 2 diaper bags, one bigger and one smaller. You will find that for shorter outings - shopping and such - you will not want to be lugging around a big diaper bag.
I guess I have the 'cheap taste' in the crowd, my big diaper bag is from Evenflo
and I like it alot. It was $30.00 when I got it at my shower but I see it's $20.00 on BRU site now. I don't use it all that much now that Lukie is bigger and doesn't require me carrying tons of baby goods but I'm sure I will get alot of use out of with 2 kiddies. The smaller one I got at TJ Maxx, it's a green canvas Baby Boom bag and I think it was $6.99 - I love this bag, I wish I had a pic, it's 'Daddy friendly' too. (A must LOL)
In regards to the diaper bag becoming your purse I still carry my own bag, I like having my stuff in my bag. I have very specific places I keep my stuff in my bag. Everyone finds what works for them.

Re: Diaper Bags
Liz, I LOVE that one! I love Evenflo products, and I was JUST about to shop around for a bigger diaper bag (Ive been using the hospital ones) and I have two that are the smaller $6.99 ones from TJMaxx, theyre navy, cute and trendy looking, but just havent used them yet, I guess they felt too small. But I will use em eventually and thats EXACTLY my taste that navy one.(and the price is my pricepoint too - Id rather put $100 in his bank account ) I like the 'kiddie' ones, (characters) but then I also like the navy with a touch of pattern exactly like that one...
lemme go check the website thanks!

Re: Diaper Bags
I have the I'm Still Me bag posted by Susans. I LOVE it. I also have the Kate Spade diaper bag that I got as a gift from my friends (LOVE my friends!). But I do have to say that I never use it because it is SOOOOOO heavy and too big to fit in my stroller. We also have an Eddie Bauer for my hubby.

Re: Diaper Bags
I'm thinking of ordering this one from Lands End. It looks cute! I also am going to check out the ones at the stores. I don't want black. I ordered different swatches for this- khaki, blue and pink.

Jenny - the pouch would be practical for soiled or wet clothing - the diapers you would just THROW AWAY asap! LOL!

Claud I am starting to think like a MOMMY!!! (also starting to save like a mommy...normally something as simple as silver rings that I don't like on a bag would send me right out to buy a new one! Not anymore!! Gotta save those extra bucks for an Exersaucer!!!)
although I do like that Land's End one......

Re: Diaper Bags
I recieved a lands end diaper bag..the bigger one..as a shower gift. Used it maybe 5 times. It is just too big and heavy..and I dont even use it for weekend stays at a relatvies house- a duffle bag is better for that. So I am thinking of calling thme up and asking if I can exchange it for a lighter one
also bought a daper bag at the GAP..it is black and it is a backpack..but we love it. Very sturdy and dad can carry it too.
now the Peter Rabbit diaper bag my bro bought us is worn out from daily use to day care ..so I am thinking we will replace it with a regular backpack that we can fit a thermos bag in. We like using backpac ks as it keeps our hands free for wriggling Julianne...and it doesnt cause me to load everthing on my right shoulder.

Re: Diaper Bags
Phyl, youre talking me into a backpack one... and I agree about not wanting one thats too bulky.. Im debating whether to get a roomy backpack one for both kids, or whether to use 2 smaller ones, one for each kid...

Re: Diaper Bags
I got the Lands End Classic one and also hardly ever use it. I am going to send it back and get the small, little tripper one. I never saw that pink one, it's cute! We used the LE one for overnight trips a couple of times and that's it - it's just too big for everyday. Im trying to downsize, and now have a small bag that goes on the side of the Maclaren stroller with velcro (from One Step ahead), that I just keep diapers and wipes in. I had a backpack one, but I don't even need all that stuff in the bag, so I often just leave it in the car.

Re: Diaper Bags
I am diaper Bag obsessed - no baby yet! but when It happens I will have plenty.
I bought my sister a ton but her favorite is a blue toile one from ebay similar to this pic
Also bought these Tommy Hilfiger bags at Marshalls and TJMax.
and the last place I got bags at was www.babystyle.com - actually a sale now on 3 of the bags I bought (I have ready for any babyshowers I have to go too) so check it out, unfortunately I bought before the BIG SALE.
