So we bought the votive candles and holders from cudgenet.com in order to make our placecards. I had it lit for about an hour and 15 minutes and it wasn't even hot!

We ordered from them too and did a test also. The glass didn't get hot, but the candle turned to liquid after a couple of hours. Did the same happen to you?

I had these issues too.... I was using that scrapbook tape to keep it on the glass the kind of tape you have to rub on ..it showed a little less then the double sided tape but not much for the extra work to rub the tape on...

okay, well i guess i'll just keep using the double sided. it works fine. i think the vellum i'm using is a little sheerer than others i've seen. bends easier though...oh well what to do...what to do...

WHat type of candles did you use? Mine are the actual votive ones not the tealights. Maybe that made a difference?

i didn't try it, so maybe its something to test, but i thought it would be harder to work with-positioning the wraps and perhaps the heat would melt it? plus sometimes you get the glue to show through just like the tape---but i think Laura1976 used it so perhaps it works...

Did you ladies do just one piece of vellum that had your names on the front and the table number/peole on the back? Or did you do 2 seperate pieces of paper?

i did one piece and they look very similar to this...a little more space between the name and table number
