take all your pictures BEFORE the ceremony? If so, did it 'ruin' the 'moment' of you walking down the aisle and your SO seeing you (not for the first time)?
Since we're (as of now) marrying at the place, we'd have to miss our cocktail hour - as well as the people in our wedding party & our families - so that we can take pics...neither of us like the idea of this. So it was suggested we consider taking the pics b4 the ceremony...some have said it will make us more relaxed & we'll be able to enjoy (& remember) it all.
So I was just wondering what everyone else's opinions were...Thanks!

We're going to take our picture before the ceremony. I am a little upset that we won't see each other for the first time walking down the aisle but I would rather be at my cocktail hour and not feel rushed with pictures. Plus i want to take outdoor pictures and we need the light before the ceremony.

We took our pictures before the ceremony. We had a special moment of seeing each other for the first time (which we were able to capture on video and photos) and walking down the aisle was simply another magical moment. We were able to take our time with photos. We were relaxed and had fun -- which shows in the pictures.
My husband was a GM in a wedding a few weeks later where all photos were done after the ceremony. It was a very rushed situation, the poses were uncreative, and it was a stressful situation...
Soooo... I think that taking the pictures before is a very, very, very good idea.

I'm having the same problem with this as well, what we came up with is ...we are all meeting at a hotel a couple of hours before the ceremony, FH will take pics w/ his parents, my parents, best man, groomsmen, bridesmaids (everyone except me) and I will do the same. We also decided to extend the cocktail hour by a half hour , we're hoping that we can all our 'together pics' done with in a half hour so we can enjoy a full hour of the cocktail reception. Unfortunately the more I think about it the less likely I think it'll be that we'll actually get all our pics taken care of in a half hour. I've also heard that if you see each other before things are more relaxed, you'll remember the ceremony better, and you'll get to enjoy the party a little more....so I've been trying to convince FH to take all the pics before the ceremony but he doesn't want any part of it, we'll see if I can get him to change his mind before the big day

Same here! Pics before the ceremony! I am a very nervous person, I think this will make me more relaxed before the actual walking down the aisle. Plus we have a huge bridal party, so the mose efficient way to do pics would be before. And then we all get to enjoy the whole coctail hour!

Just called FH at work to talk about this, he gave up without much of a fight, said I could do whatever I wanted so looks like we're taking all our pics before the ceremony

Valenia...that's how it was described to me. That it would be sweet for us to have a moment to say 'hi' before the ceremony...and then the ceremony was its own special moment - not 'ruined' by having seen one another beforehand.
Already, we're having people complain that we're not marrying in a church (we're both NOT religious - at all) I guess I didn't want to deal with another complaint from our 'loved ones'.

I'm definately taking pics b4 the ceremony! I also want to try to avoid crying before I walk down the aisle. I hope that seeing him before the actual ceremony will prevent the tears from falling!

I'm not taking pictures before the ceremony, but only because we have some time in between. If I were you, I would take pics before hand and enjoy your cocktail hour!
EDITED BECAUSE I WROTE TAKE PISS BEFORE HAND... ...You'll want to do that too!!!
