did any one have a kids table?

and if so how did it work out? i have a lot of family coming from out of town and they all have at least 2 kids...i have my heart set on it. but i am wondering if the kids stuck to their table or if you had room for them at the tables with their parents....were they out of control? what activities did you do or have for them? tia!

I placed each child with their respective parent...I wanted to make sure that the parents knew where their child was at all times, and that the kids were eating their meals.

I did make activity bags to keep the kids entertained.

We put kids with their parents but also had a seperate table set up with coloring books and stuff so that they weren't eating by themselves...for the most part adults took it upon themselves to accompany or at least looked after kids when they went to the coloring table...

i had a kids table. i think some of them wound up sitting with their parents anyway, but it worked out fine. I didn't provide any activities. Some of the kids were thrilled they didn't have to sit with their parents, I think it made them feel more grown up.

I was thinking about having a kids table. I thought about putting some sort of favor on the tables to keep them entertained. Oh, and candy!

i was a guest at a wedding, that had a 'kids' table....and we were right next to that table. honestly, i think the B&G should've put them with their parents. the kids ranged in age from like 6-10, and there were about 10 of them at the table, and they were a little crazy! yelling and screaming, drinks got spilt, crayons were thrown....lots of running around. it became a little bit of a romper room.

iv'e been to weddings where the kids are with the parents, and there was no real chaos. but the wedding i'm speaking of above, i was just really annoyed hearing them screaming and throwing things right next to us. JMO

i plan to put them with their parents, hopefully more than one kid at the same table, but with adults to supervise. I also plan to do an activity kit so they have things to keep them entertained.

My 9 year old FG sat with her mother. All other 'kids' (age 11-16) sat at the same table. I had no complaints from the guests that were seated next to them (but then again an LIW bride would never complain to another LIW bride ), and the kids had a great time together. They exchanged email addresses and danced together etc.

We are having five kids ages 7-10 and I'm doing a kids table for them.

I went to a wedding last month where they did a kids table and it looked like there was about ten kids and they didn't misbehave. I actually forgot they were there until they started dancing on the dance floor. I guess it just depends on the group of kids!

We did. It was great. We put them 'in the back' and by a table that had parents of a 2 year old so that they could kind of keep an eye on each other. Worked out wonderfully. The kids loved feeling all 'grown up' and free to do as they pleased.

I am having each child sit with thier parents. I am also having favors for each one too. It has candy, sticker books, coloring books, crayons, and matchbox cars.

In the invitation I am enclosing a card that states:

We would like for your children to come and be a part of our special day. If you choose to bring your children a babysitter will be provided to help watch over them. The children will be seated with thier parents during mealtime . The venue is on the water so for the safety of the children they will not be allowed outside the banquet room without being accompanied by a parent or adult.

That's it.

i had the kids sit with their parents for dinner... they were small kids and would need supervision.

after dinner, there was a 'game' table set up to entertain them so that mommy and daddy could at least dance one song while jr is coloring.

at the kids table i put coloring books, simple puzzles, stickers, crayons, and a 'foamy' craft.

if you decide to do something like this... make sure you DON'T include paint, glue, markers, play-do... anything that can mess up their party clothes

be careful! don't put too much candy... you don't want them bouncing off the walls
