Did anyone else meet FH or DH online???

I met my sweetie through Match.com 3 years ago.

Since it seems so many of us are with techies I'm curious if there are any other couples that met that way.....

No, but I did have a 2 year relationship with someone I met online in an AOL chat room.

ETA: This was also over 6 years ago, when I refused to tell anyone how we actually met. To this day, my parents still don't know!

my mil met her man 4.5 years ago online, my bil met his wife online, my father met his wife online tooo.

Yep. Met my FH 4 years ago though ny.matchmaker.com.

I also met my share of psychos. I had just about given up on the internet, but he persisted and I lucked out.

I did too. DH and I met in an AOL chatroom in May of 1996 . At that time AOL charged by the hour and meeting online was new and almost unheard of. Sites like Match.com didn't even exist so we had to make do with the chat rooms and IM's!!! Most of the people in his family still don't know that that was how we met!!

To this day, it amazes me how much the internet has changed. I started on a VAX system, before there were graphics. Bulletin Boards were the thing.

I did! Although we don't tell alot of people because it turned out we knew a lot of the same people so we just say we met through a friend.

Is it cool now though??? Can I start to tell people????

We met on match.com. I was just seperated from my ex-H and my friends wanted me to 'get out there'. So they posted a profile about me (with no picture) and FI responded. He was the first and only guy I met. He was perfect for me and I have my wonderful friends to thank!!

We tell everyone how we met. I know there are a lot of lonely people out there and if more people hear about the options online the better

I have another friend getting married right before us and they met through yahoo personals. And another girlfriend met her man online as well.

Well sort of... I met my friend Will (we were only friends, never anything more) online when I was asking about a school, and when I moved down there to go to school he introduced me to his roomate (FH).

I did also over 6 years ago when it was not the 'thing' to do. We met at love @aol. I had posted a picture wtih a fake screen name and his was one of the responses/// after emailed back and forth for a month we finally spoke on the phone and the next night we met and have been together ever since!!!. I know baout 6 people who have met their DH/FH on Jdate...

Does this count? Fi was an old friend who I didn't see or speak to for about 15 years. 3 yrs ago he sent me an email at the urging of a common acquaintance and we started dating. I have a friend who has met lots of nice guys on match.com. No big love connection yet, but no psychos either.

Yes, but in an online college class. I had just started my Master's and he had just started his Bachelor's. It was the only class that we had in common between our degrees. I was totally not expecting to meet someone in an online class!

We did too! We found each other on Swoon.com which was free at the time. It's now through Match.com though. We started IMing eachother in October of 2000 and didn't meet until January of 01....

My DH and I met on match.com about 4 years ago. At first, we did not tell anyone how we met. But once we did all of our single friends were joining match.com!
