what was it like? I've been on hold for like 10 minutes and everytime I call they are rude to me - i am thinking of blowing off the meeting and just sending pics to the rh. I'm just annoyed with them.
did you just bring a picture or something?
ETA: sorry, they aren't all rude. It was the same woman both times, and i'm just cranky

I've ordered my cake from them. I actually had an appointment but 2 weeks before I was in the area and stopped by to see if they had any cancellations. They told me to come back in 20 minutes and when we did they were great. I had planned to bring them pictures but didn't have them on me that day. They have at least 3 books of pics so you can see the kind of work they do. They looked really nice.

yeah I didnt' want the standard Riviera cake so they told me to go there; I wish I had some recommendations on flavors etc. I wonder if they let you taste the different flavors?

Our cake is delicious! After we ordered they made a sample cake for us to try (picked it up the next day...) It's chocolate cake, with one layer of cannoli cream with choc chips, and a layer of cookies and cream mousse...sooooooooo yummy!

We only use them b/c they are so good and nice. Sorry to hear that. They really are so worth it. I called made an appointment and they had tons of pics. I also told her what I wanted and Iknow they will do it!

We're goign with them, and so far the experience has been just fine. We couldn't taste the different cake and icing flavors (I had always seen that on TV and thought it would be the case), but they did make us an entire sample tier (about 9' diameter) that we got to take home and taste and share with our friends.
alternating layers of chocolate and vanilla cake, with one layer of chocolate mousse icing and one layer of cookies and cream icing... so excited!

We are using black forest as well...we always get cakes from there since I only live 3 blocks away...they were friendly to us....i also brought them a pciture to show them the colors i wanted!

i just spoke to them and had a different girl - she was very nice so I'm sure it's that one woman. the last two times she called and always sounded annoyed, and I just do NOT do well with that. but she's not who we'll be meeting with, so that's a good thing. wish me luck cake picking!

We used Black Forest....a bit abrasive in our meeting but our cake was gorgeous, exactly what we wanted and best part, it was DELICIOUS.....yellow cake, cannoli w/ choc chips and choc mousse filling and buttercream.....the best cake I have ever had....and I'm 100% serious!

How far in advance should you make your appt? This is different than the bakery Riviera uses? Will it be an extra cost to go through them?

Black Forest is the house baker for the Riviera. I think you have to pay extra if you want something specific. If you want something basic it is included in your package.
