I got home from looking at Photos by verdi tonight and received a call that someone was coming in looking to book them for the same day 04/24/04. Is this something vendors do to get you to book? This seems like a big coincidence.
It wasn't me, I'm August. But I can tell you that I have been closed out of one photog already and nearly lost Wild Rose....there are a lot more brides out there then are here on these boards. But don't feel pressured if you are unsure about the vendor.
It wasn't me but just wanted to let you know that before I booked them I was unable to even go in to see them for two weeks. Once I did I told them I would get back to them in a week or so and they never pressured me or called back with an ultimatum. They did mention that they were suprosed they had my date left b/c most brides were calling for '04 already. Hope that helps!
that does sound a little shady.... don't give in to those kind of pressure tactics!
I don't think Verdi was trying to hard sell you. They were letting you know that someone else might book before you.
I don't think they were being shady. They're a popular vendor and there are only so many weekends in a year. These boards probably only represent 10%-20% of all LI brides. I'm sure they were just giving you the heads-up!
I agree I don't think they were being shady actually we really liked there work A LOT but we want to look at a few other places tomorrow before we make any decisions. When we went out there he gave us the impression he was not seeing anyone else tonight and within 20 mins of walking out of the office he left a voicemail saying another girl who booked at Atlantica was coming in and would most likely book him because she booked her hall based on his photos. I was hoping the other girl would be on here and I could find out if she was really serious about them or only looking.

Sounds like a cooincidence. Did I spell that correctly. I better call them soon. I wanted to check them out also. I have seen there work and it's exactly what I am looking for. SOmeone in the office next door used them and loved them..
I booked Verdi for my wedding and they have been nothing but sweet to me... they are great people... I'm not worried about them...
I think they were trying to be helpful. They are a husband and wife team so they may have been taking a more personal approach.
