I went. The food was awesome!!! They had a cocktail hour cheese, veggies and dip, baby lamb chops, asparagus and salmon, pigs in blankets, two pastas, eggplant rollotini, chicken with spinach and sundried tomatoes, baked clams, etc. Then they had three salads - the one with pears and goat cheese, the vegetable tower and the greek salad. Then they had chicken, chateaubriand and salmon with various sauces.
I was really, really impressed. I knew the food was good but it is really amazing.
I also picked my menu while I was there. There is going to be so much food.

Re: Did anyone go to the NRC today for a tasting?
that sounds awesome!!! Did they not have the chilean sea bass?? I am so afraid that they are going to stop carrying it - they need to have it for at least 6 more months!!

do you remember the names of the sauces? when i went in april we had the shitake sauce (filet mignon) porcini (for chicken) dill (for salmon) mango papaya (chilean sea bass) and some kind of lemony sauce that was so good. that's the one that i cant remember! i cant remember if it was for the chicken or the fish! i wish i could go again :( but they only give one tasting per couple. maybe someone wants to let me come with them !!

They still have it. I'm having it at my wedding. They did not indicate in any way that they were going to stop having it :)

The lemony one was for the chicken. It was not the tuscany but George said it was similar to the tuscany (which is the chicken I went with). Don't worry, I'm obsessing about everything...

i think i am going to go with either the filet mignon in the shitake sauce, the chicken with the lemony sauce and the chilean sea bass (if they still have it!) if not, then the salmon with the dill sauce.

How many sauces did you try? There were 6 at my tasting, the porcini, the shitake, the dill. the tuscany, the baby lobster sauce, and OMG I can't remember the last one. We decided to go w/ the filet mignon and porcini (or was it the shitake - got to check my notes), chicken w/ tuscany, and tilapia/chilean sea bass w/ baby lobster sauce (SOOOO YUMMY!).

I went!! It was great! I loved the Porcini sauce with the beef, not to crazy about the darker mushroom sauce. The chicken tasted great with the lemon sauce and the Salmon tasted great with the Dill.
If they didn't have the other sauces at the tasting, can you still sample it, I would have loved to try the lobster sauce and maybe another sauce for the beef.
