Excellence Riviera was AMAZING - check out my review. DH and I keep talking about going back for our 1 year but we know we should try something new (we've been to Cancun twice!).

We didnt go for the HM-we went to the one in Punta Cana (AMAZING!) but we went the previous June after we got engaged and it was fabulous which is why we booked the one in PUNTA CANA.
I did a comparison in my review.

We went to Secrets Excellence in Riviera Maya not for our honeymoon just for a vacation and it was amazing! The resort is beautiful, service is great and the food is excellent. That is one of my favorite places and I highly reccommend it. I have some pics in my album.

My daughter got married in Nov. They stayed at the Excellence and they raved about it. They loved everything!! Food, people, hotel, etc. This was recommended by their travel agent. Good luck!!

We stayed at Excellence and were NOT impressed. You really don't get what you pay for there... my trip advisor link is in my review.
It wasn't horrible.. we just had high expectations based on what we paid, and they definitely weren't fulfilled...

We stayed at the Secrets Capri and loved it. The resort was beautiful and the service was great! We had a great time!

Check out The Royal Hideaway, not the Royal... this place is amazing the food the service the rooms and the grounds are gorgeous... i was not there on my honeymoon but i felt like i was...we met another couple from my area who was on their honeymoon and they were extremely happy with everything. It is a 5 star hotel and all well worth it .

Check out The Royal Hideaway, not the Royal... this place is amazing the food the service the rooms and the grounds are gorgeous... i was not there on my honeymoon but i felt like i was...we met another couple from my area who was on their honeymoon and they were extremely happy with everything. It is a 5 star hotel and all well worth it .

I went to the Royal Hideaway for my HM and it was hands down the most gorgeous resort. Food was a amazing and it was top notch service.
If you are looking for a party place, it is not the place for you but if you are looking for a relaxing, 5-star treatment HM go for it.
Cancun is only 1/2 hour away, so we took cabs and went there to party

Yes!! I went to the royal hideaway for my honeymoon and it was the best place i have ever been and we cannot wait to go back there in a few years. I can't say enough about it 5 stars and well worth the money :)

We just got back from the new Excellence in Playa Mujeres and it was FABULOUS- everything was great and brand new, so it is all really nice and modern.

We went to the Riviera Maya and stayed in the Iberostar Grande that just opened in March '07. No kids, brand new, beautiful beaches, quiet tranquil pool areas, great spa, lots of resturants and activities. HTH
