did anyone have a co ed shower or bbq party like shower

I was thinking of having this instead of someone throwing me one and it being all women. I know that guys arent into the whole shower thing but if its more like a bbq type party rather than a shower I think they wouldnt mind. My reason is that I dont really have anyone to throw me a shower. My mom passed away as did my g-ma. I wouldnt want anyone of my friends to bear the finacial resposibility. Id feel more comfortable paying for a party. Also, my family consists mostly of men. What do you think?

I did! I wanted to have my husband, Dad, grandfather, uncles, etc at my shower. It was so important to have them all there, we are very close and I'm the baby int he family so they were really honored to be there since there was so much excitement. We just made it a big party.

when we had the baby shower for my SIL my BIL stayed. he was the only male there. My hubby didnt think it would be appropriate besides he had to watch the kids. My BIL had a blast so I do not see anything wrong with it. I actually think it is a great idea.
