Did anyone have any drama happen over this weekend

other then Lolita?

for me it was nothing serious, just, when my dh told me that on Xmas day when we open presents at his moms, we will start and not wait fo rhis brother which was fine but then when the day came I told my boys they had to wait for their cousins. I felt it was only right to wait out of respect. (we did open small gifts to keep them busy) BIL got there 2 hours late and then came in saying the kids were sleeping in the car to start with out them. 2 hours I was telling my boys and then they say 'start without us' HELLO, we have kids too and they were nice and waited for yours its not my fault whenever you go somewhere your kids fall asleep when they get to the destination. Other then that we had a good holiday without drama.

Well, there is something that happens every year, every holiday...i know it's coming - it does every year!

Well, this year, we had a great holiday, on Christmas my extended family was at my parent's things were going fine....after dinner, my mom packed up the leftovers and brought them down to the basement refrigerator. As she was going down the stairs, she slipped and fell There were creamed onions everywhere and the noise she made going down was awful. So needless to say it was very scary. She was ok, just a little bruised but my poor grandmother was crying etc. My 19 yr old sister decides that this is hysterical and everyone yelled at her. She is such a witch sometimes. Then my mom asked her to hold the ice pack on her back for her and my sister said 'No, hold it yourself!' because she was mad that everyone yelled at her for laughing. Then my mom said she was going to take the new Uggs she bought my sister for Christmas (and went to a lot of trouble to get) up her.....well you get the idea!

Yes. I do not even know where to begin. At least I have DH though, I would be lost without the man. Why is it that everything seems to come to a head around the holidays?

yes...my uncle, who has been sober and clean for 3 weeks and living at my grandparents, decided to spend the day with his ex and guess what he did??? yup...he was drunk.

Not too much for DH's house, other than the normal FIL going into a rant about not wanting to go to church because ONE TIME in church the priest started to talk in Spanish, and it was going to happen again at midnight mass. Mind you I AM the only hispanic one in their ENTIRE family. So I feel so comfortable as he says these things in my presence.--in my most sarcastic voice.
Oh wait my BIL got mad Christmas morning because my FIL didn't bring him a garlic bagel because he didn't hear him. He went downstairs to pout. HE IS 24 yrs old. Come on now.

A little bit of drama on between my mother and sister - but nothing to lose sleep over.

thankfully, no...

there is always drama potential with DH's family, however this year it was successfully avoided. each year it gets a little better as DH states, i have him on a 'short leash'...

Not much over here, although I deliberately avoid contact with 1/2 of the family for that exact reason...I heard there was plenty I missed though.

Well on Christmas Eve my mother pulled her usual crap where she threatens my step-father w/ a divorce because he didn't help enough/thank her enough/worship her enough...

I'm pretty used to it though as it happens on almost a yearly basis...

Everythings always fine by Christmas morning though...

Honestly, if I could get through one Christmas without them having a huge screaming match i would return all of my gifts...

There's a large potential for drama whenever my FSIL is around. She offered to pour everyone at the dining room table wine except for me. When DH and I were saying that we were quiting smoking for New Years she told him he might as well kill me now. She was fuming with jealousy when the family was looking at our wedding pictures, she didn't ask to see a single one. When our friends came over to my ILs she tried to 'hog' a mutual friend so I would feel left out. I simply wouldn't let her and neither would my friend. Eventually she walked away because she couldn't stand that I wasn't being left out or sulking or something. Then everytime I would be petting her dog, she'd call the dog away. Her attempts are so blatantly obvious and she makes herself look like such a LOSER!!!

Aside from the fact that she was dressed rather inappropriately (think Dolly Parton in her hay-day) she pretty much stayed away from DH and I. In fact, she never even said goodbye to us at the end of the night. We all went to the bar next to the hotel and BIL and his biatch were one of the only ones not to come out and continue the celebration.

ooh ooh ooh, any pictures?

umm, our holiday drama was just the usuall yelling in DH's grandparent's house. His uncle is a big baby & yells at anyone who doesn't do things his way. He lives with his parents ( sh's grandparents) and the 3 of them fight all the time.

For my family, my grandfather wouldn't accept cash he was given as a gift to use towards new sneakers. but that wasn't so bad--he is famous for refusing gifts, but he didn't make a big deal about it this year. And unfortunaltey, it is usually from 1 aunt & she tries so hard.
