Did anyone have just one photographer? etc.

Did anyone have just one photographer? etc.

Trying to decide between a few photographers and packages.
Did anyone have only one photographer for their wedding or is everyone having 2?
If you had one, was it 'enough' as far as the angles/pics they were able to get?

Also, did anyone get a 'traditional' album with digital pics (without the background images, etc) Is this less expensive? I saw some samples at 12th Night and Duet and loved the digital albums but am also wondering if we really need to be paying $1000 for a photo album!

thanks for any input.

we went with 2, because we both wanted photojournalistic pictures, but for our parents, they want all that traditional stuff.....most of the weddings ive been to have only had 1 and that was fine.

We decided to go w/ 2. Our photographer offers the Magazine style album for the same price as the traditional. Personally we decided to go w/ the traditional.

Our photographer is Artisan. They are a vendor on here. I highly recommend them!!! Chuck is the best.

We had one photographer and one video person. If I could do it again, I'd have two of each, at least for the ceremony.

Both our photographer and video guy missed some important things. The photographer did a better job than the video guy, though.

We had one photographer and two video people. I would definitely get two photographers if I could do it again.

I am having one. Sometimes one good photographer is better than two that aren't soo good. I am totally confident my one photographer will capture everything.

Getting a traditional album. I dont like the magazine albums.

i'm going with only 1 photographer and 1 videographer but that was primarily because i didn't want it to look like the paparazzi following me around all day.

I love photojournalistic pictures so we are having 2. I did that because we are not having a videographer, that was FH's only wish. He hates videographers.

If we go with Duet we will get 2 but it's really not needed if you have a good photographer. The package is too good to pass up at Duet tho!

From the people I know who are in the wedding photo/video business the 'photojournalist' angle is a gimmick. It's true that it is a distinct style but it can be captured by one person. The number of pics that you may 'miss out' on, from the proofs I have seen, are less than 5 in most cases...not enough to justify $800- 1,000 extra. (real people proofs- not their samples). If money wasn't an issue I'd go with 2 just to make sure nothing is missed, but in the real world you can easily have 1 and be happy. My videographer friend said to go with 2 if you really feel as though it's what you want...

If we go with Grey Studios (who I LOVE but their $$ aren't as good as Duet) we'd only have 1 photographer and his assistant can shoot pics too- which is just fine for us!

Photography is giving me the hardest time!! Good luck! I'd rather spend on services and upgrade the album after the wedding!

I don't think any of us have a money tree. I wish I did, but no....

I chose to spend the most on my photographer. We are spending thousands of dollars on our weddings. We're overpaying for everything here, from reception hall to flowers just because it's a wedding. I chose to use a majority of our budget on the photographer. I'm interested in talent not how many proofs I'll get or the size and shape of my album-you pay for what you get. I can tell how much a person paid for their photographer just by looking at their proofs, and it has nothing to do with the album they chose.

we're having two photographers and a videographer, I want every moment captured of this day that I'm spending thousands on.
