Yup we had 4 that did not show up. 1 couple and the dates of 2 friends.

Same with us. We had two last minute additions the day before the wedding, so they took the place of the dates.

A couple that I didn't want to invite in the first place (DH's friends) didn't even call - they had someone else tell us they couldn't make it, but that they would send a gift. Never got the gift. Never got a phone call from them.

it's starting already...

if you can believe it, one of my BM's is stating her husband may not be able to make it because they spent too much on their vacation - ***? this is 10 days before the big day...

our family is also taking bets if one of our relatives from chicago is going to make it. he said yes but we don't believe him

There is usually a few people who do that. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it.

Yes but most of them I knew at least a week prior. Like DH's cousin that couldn't come b/c her nanny had to go home to Europe on family emergency 2 wks before the wedding. I think that was the only one. I'm trying to think if there was any more...oh yeah one guy didn't come but we had a feeling he may not be able to show up...he told DH he may or may not. So I didn't put him in the final count. Always better to undercount anyway.

How much do you undercount??? I have to meet my mininimum 2 weeks before the wedding but can give the final, final count 2 days before. How many did you undercount?

Yes we had 3 people that did not show up. 1 was my friends' date but her more then made up for it with an extremely generous gift. The other was a friend of my husband's who did't show up with his girlfriend. Just today he sent us a generous check.

we had two couples who weren't able to make it because each of them had a death in the family that morning....so it was understandable.....i think in each case it was a father of one of the people.

each of them sent us a gift, and the one still cries everytime she sees pictures from my wedding becasue she is so sad she missed it.

I had 2 people not show. When I was on my HM I called my parents and they found out that my friends father was rushed to the hospital that morning and my friend was with him. He's okay now and they sent a generous gift. The whole 'episode' was completley understandable.

OHHHH DONT GET ME STARTED!!!!!

We sent out our invites way before our wedding, of course we included the self addressed stamped envelope.....how hard is it to write YES or NO and drop it in your mailbox???

Well now that I'm in a venting mood, we had invited 2 sisters that DH was good friends with. They always said how they couldnt wait to come to our wedding blah blah blah....well the response date came and went so with 2 days before I had to give final headcount I decided to call. I got one of the sisters on the phone and said I know you guys are really busy studying for the Bar exam, but I just need to know if you guys are coming to the wedding....her response 'yes we'll be there'

Fast forward to the wedding......guess who isnt there? Now I understand that my wedding didnt mean that people had to drop whatever they were doing and come, but not for anything there were 3 other people at my wedding that took the bar exam that Monday and passed (these 2 didnt).

Now for the last 13.5 months that we've been married, these 2 girls have not called, dropped an email to say sorry we couldnt make it nothing. Lo and behold last week my DH receives an email from one of the sisters
'hey how are you been too long. Sorry we didnt make it to your wedding...anyway we passed the bar blah blah blah' Then in the closing 'Btw I'm getting married in November and I'd like for you and your wife to come'

WHATTTT? First off this chick knows my name and second how dare she think that after 14 months I'm gonna forget that they didnt have the decesncy (sp) to acknowledge our marriage or the fact that we wasted $$$ on their lying a$$e$.....

If we get the invite I'm writing on the envelope RETURN TO SENDER.
