I'm making my own CPs and I'm using silk flowers. I will start putting them together within the next 3 weeks. I will post pictures when I complete them.

I'm going to. I just made some mock ups the other day. In total, it will cost me $25 per table (vases and roses). But, my hall will give me a credit of $15 per table if I do my own CP's, so it's really only $10 per table!!! Yippee!! I'm also lucky that I have some handy bridesmaids to help me.

Anyway, here are pics of what I made..
Don't mind the white pillowcase, I was trying to see what they would look like on white tablecloths...

very nice...those are real roses right? Where are you getting them from? And your doing all 3 per table? I like the idea a lot!

And all others..post pics!!

Re: Did anyone make their own CP'S?

yup- real roses. These came from Costco, and actually were pretty good. They're $15 for 2 dozen. I used 2 dozen roses between the 3 vases. A few needed a little pruning with a few petals, but I didn't bother for the trial.

My plan is to get the roses either from Costco or Sam's- my mom talked to them already, and they said that they could special order roses in bulk in whatever color you want.

There are 3 vases. This pic shows a big one, a medium one and a small one. For the real CP's, we're going to use one medium and 2 smalls. The less that you can see the stems, the better- which was the issue with the biggest vase.

The other thing that I learned- the wider the mouth of the vase, the easier it is to work with. My smalles vases have very wide mouths and looked the best.

FM me if you need anymore info.

Good luck!

Donna,
You can also order whole roses from here for as low as 89 cents a stem for a rose. They have all different colors. I am going to order white roses and blue hydrengas and make my own centerpieces for the engagement party. I got a quote from a florsit today and it was much cheaper to do it myself. I am getting cobalt blue vases from the dollar store and flowers from here. It will cost be about $20 to do a table. You can also do rose petals and pilar candles. That is pretty also. Talk to you soon!

my mom is making ours...

they will be clear beaded branch-like creations with 4 votive candles in holders at the base of the tower vase (hopefully to make them sparkle). my mom got the idea from the chandelier in the room

kinda like this pic, but with beads and fewer branches...
