i negotiated extra stuff....we got wine on the tables and the custom linens and chaircovers thrown in....i think the linens they give to everyone and they just make you think their throwing them in, but the wine was on the extras list at like $6pp
We did our research before negotiating. I searched on here for price lists and talked to people on what prices they got at my venue. Then I went down there and asked for the price and they gave me something higher. I then said well, I saw on LI Weddings that it is this price and they were able to give me something around that range. No attitude from them- they were willing to work with us.
i have to say my dad was great at negotiation !!! he got us a few things added in for free and got them to knock down the price a few dollars (which adds up quickly)!!!
Yes - we already had a reduced price because of the winter wedding, and then we wanted to get them down more. We took out one of the 4 chef stations during cocktail hour (for a wedding of 75 people, 8 passed hor dourves and 3 chef stations is more than enough!) and they dropped the price another $10 pp. I am sure other places do this, but once we reach our minimum, then kids are half price.
We negoiated a little, but mostly we did that with our other vendors.

We had to raise our minimum by 10 people but we got them down about $15 pp. We're going to try and get a couple of things added too

We had no choice but to negotiate. We pretty much told them what we wanted and how much we could afford..we had a set price and in most places we had the take it or leave it sort of attitude. The place we booked, I was in love with and would have been devestated if they couldn't work with us, but they more than worked with us and they didn't try taking things off the menu. Just be honest with what you are looking for and what you want to spend, let them know where your at and where they can meet you.
I sure did.. and we got some stuff added as well. My wedding consultant is FANTASTIC. I really would have loved to get some linens though....
We negotiated our pp price...they took six dollars off the price of each guest then added some extras. They added a martini louge during our cocktail hour, passed martinis, passed california rolls during Cocktail hour, passed pigs in a blanket for FH, cookies and fruit platters with our coffee and cordile bar after dinner. We were going to book either way so it was a bonus for us.
We did negotiate price and are in the middle of having a few things thrown in. They always start out high and make a pretty penny knocking of a few bucks here and there.
You ladies are impressive! I negotiated $5 off pp, I know I could have done more but I was totally in a weak state of mind when I was booking.
i negotiated down 5 dollars per head. i said i was going between two places and the other one was 5 dollars cheaper per head so that i was going to go with them and they matched it...i know not all places do this though
