Yes absolutely bring this up. It can't hurt you. Most of the time, they want to work with you on price.

You should just tell them that, while you really like Fox Hollow, the price is holding you back. Don't go in there with the attitude that you are getting a 'fantastic deal'. Make them believe that you don't think it's a great deal and you really have to think about it.

I would just tell the place you really want that this is your dream place but you really cannot go over XXX. See how close they get. This is what I did.

That is exactly what I did. Stay firm about it and you might be surprised how much they are willing to come down.

For our package we had a pasta station at the CH, then fruit, pasta, salad, dinner. Since there were other pasta choices avail at the CH, we eliminted the pasta station and saved $1 pp, Also, we moved the salad to the first course, then pasta, then dinner. Thus eliminated the fruit (also avail at the CH) and saving another $1pp. It may not seem like much but it did add up.

Try telling them you can not go over $xx and see what they say. Maybe then can offer different dinner choices for less money.

sometimes if you offer to pay cash they will waive the tax. at 8.75% that's a lot of $$$ saved.

Definately bring it up. I did the opposite at WM and told them FH gave me a lower price which they did. MUCH LOWER! Also if you can guarantee a number of guests above their minimum that will help too! Good Luck!

tell them you have a certain $ pp you need to stay w/i. If found if you have enough people they work out just about anything. stay firm tell them you would like to book there but.....dont be afraid to tell them you have shopped around

It really depends on the hall i think.Th place i booked would not budge....they had set prices
It is worth trying

We basically said that we loved the place, but the price was holding us up from booking. They ended up throwing some extras in instead of lowering the price, but that was fine with us.

The price is there to be negotiated. Except in extremely rare circumstances, the first offer the hall gives you is likely to be much higher than what they'd be willing to let it go for - they're just trying to see if you'll bite.

Yes, if you're booking on a popular date (Saturday nights in May/June or Sept/Oct for example) far in advance, then perhaps the hall won't come down all that much, but if Jan 27, 2006 is really your date, that's a Friday in the winter, and I would assume you would be able to get absolutely rock bottom prices - there is pretty much no way that they will book that date otherwise, and I would think it should easily cost less than half of their 'peak' price. They will likely be willing to do the party on that date at even the smallest profit margin. Good luck!

oh I did that with Chateau Briand
Westbury Manor gave me a great price but I still wanted to check out Chateau Briand so I called and told the banquet manager what Westbury Manor offered me and he said we could work it out but I went with Westbury Manor because fh and I both loved it there!!!
Doesnt hurt to ask!

We did try.....but it didn't work out to our advantage. Oh well, we get what we pay for!

They would not budge with us but threw some stuff in. We really got a great price so I was happy with it anyway. They even pulled out the rates to show us because my FH is a salesman too!!! it was funny. I love the WM.

my FH negotiated ALMOST everything. there was one thing that he didnt even try and that was the band. my advice is absolutely do it for the hall. just be careful with the vendors!

just remember. these people REALLY want your business. YOURE BOOKING THEM!!!

good luck!!

Jennifer.. dont forget to let us know
