we didnt use an agent. We did get insurance though.

I usually always plan trips on my own but I did use a TA b/c we went to Fiji, 2 diff islands, lots of flights, boat transfers, etc. I think if you have one flight, one hotel a TA isn't necessary, but should research to see where you get the best price
