Did anyone read 'Under the Tuscan Sun'

Its in the theaters now, and I was just wondering if it was changed for the screen. I read it a while ago, and based on what I've seen from the previews, it seems different. I hate when they do that to books!

just talked to my mom who saw it last night - it sounds VERY different from the book.

I don't remember the details too well, but as I recall she's married, not running around meeting all these Italian men.

I'm curious to find out more details of the movie. But I remember that too-- she was definitely married and more middle-aged with kids, etc... Strange.
THat was actually one of my honeymoon reads

I saw an interview about the autor and her take on the movie. She loved what they did with the movie. The book to her was just her memoirs but to become a movie she said it needed a little spice. Her and Diane Lane talked abot her experiences and stuff like that. She wasn't married yet, she said she had a very difficult divorce but was in a long term relationship with someone at the time of her book. From what I heard from lots of people it was a great movie.........

I loved that book. I havent seen the movie yet. We may go tonight so Ill let you know how true it is to the original. I usually dont go to movies adopted from books that I love because I usually dislike the changes they make. I want to see this one because I love Tuscany and hope that if the story fails the sceanary will make up for it.
