OK I am OBSESSED with Christmas. I havent even put fine china on my registry, cause i don't see myself using it, but Christmas china is a different story! I found a set i LOVE, but I feel a little weird putting it on since I am getting married in July
any thoughts? Did anyone else put Christmas china on there?

Re: Did anyone register for....
Im going to have to say a big 'no' on that one mainly because we are Jewish BUT, we DID register for religious items: A challah plate, matching candlesticks, and matching challah knife for Shabbat dinners. I also registered for a mezzuzah but took it off when I found it cheaper at the Lenox outlet. If I celebrated Christmas, i would have chosen Christmas China. I think its pretty.

no because i will use my regular fine china for holidays, BUT we did put a lenox ornament on there as well as some other christmas item, i cant remember, that most likely will not be sold anytime near my shower, however hopefully someone will see it and buy it for christmas
I think it is fine to register for holiday items (no biggie if your wedding is in july)

Re: Did anyone register for....
Oh I'm glad you posted this. We are registering soon, and I wanted to register for Christmas dishes, even though the stores wont sell it in the Spring. But I was unsure if I should do it.
But heck, if the brides on LIW say it's ok, then I can do it!!

I'm definitely registering for Christmas stuff. We're getting married next November so I figured it's close enough to the holidays. Besides, I LOVE Christmas stuff!!!

No, and I don't plan on it. I'll just use our regular china for the holidays. It's pretty but I don't see it being worth it IMO. But that's just me, if it makes you happy then def go for it!!
Btw, love Leslie's response!

Re: Did anyone register for....
I have a registry at Kohls (my mom's only request to date) and I put on the Phalzgraph Christmas set (dishes, bowls, etc). Because Christmas is my fave holiday and I have always wanted a special set.

OMG!!! i'm same way. fi gave me the big ol' NO to registering for it. so i just told him that that was fine - i just spend his hard-earned money on it anyway once we got a house
i think if you're not registering for regular china AND the pattern you want is a standard that's been around for a while, then you should go for it.

Re: Did anyone register for....
I was actually ONLY registering for Holiday China. I am thinking of a lenox design. I think that formal china does not fit our lifestyle. I am one of 10 and have 23 nieces and nephews and more on the way...so dinner parties or more like buffet and find a seat wherever you can. A holiday set is more practical. I would have more of an opportunity to use it. Plus I think my everyday is so pretty I can use it for my friends and family when they do come over...
For some reason I can only get the platter to show up as a pic....the plates are just a pale blue with a chocolate brown border.
i would, but i don't think it will be available to purchase around our shower and wedding dates...otherwise, i would def put it on! i

My FH have registered for odd things, since we already have small appliances etc. b/c we bought a house last year. I say put it on there, you never know. I just hope they purchase the regular china before the Christmas one otherwise you will be eating on reindeer plates on Easter.

Re: Did anyone register for....
The plates are called 'audrey' and they are from Crate and Barrel. The set is sooooo beautiful. My FMIL/ FFIL bought me all of my 8- 5piece settings..and then FH grandma bought me 4 more 5 pice settings because they realized that I am using them as my 'china'.
