Did anyone register for silver?

Did anyone register for silver?

Just wondering b/c FMIL keeps making such a big deal about us registering for it and it really isn't a priority for either myself or FH. She keeps saying we'll regret b/c if we don't get it now, we probably never will. But honestly, I think my life would be OK without a set of silver. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this...

Silver needs a lot of upkeep, considering it's hardly used.

If you and your FH have no desire for it, then don't waste 'space' on your registry or your home!

We didn't register for it and I myself could go either way also, but my parents bought a set for us and an engagement gift. So I am going to make an effort to use the 'good stuff' quite often!

I registered for it, but have no idea if I'll get any of it. LOL

I love silver. My parents passed their silverware down to me already. I did register for additonal silver pieces like a bowl and a platter. Yes, there is a lot of upkeep. I don't mind it though. I even registered for a silversmith glove. In my family silver is a traditonal gift and it is passed down as heirlooms.

We are inheriting all our silver flatwear from FH's family, so we didn't need to get more. But if you do get it, try to use as much as you can, it looks even prettier with the time. However, if you don't truly want it ... don't worry about it and ask only for what you really like.

I think silver is beautiful but I have absolutely no desire to clean it! So, I didn't register for silver!

I didn't register and didn't plan on it but......

FMIL (whom I adore) wanted to get it for us because they also got both of his sisters silver.

I told her what my china looked like (single long stemmed pink rose). She picked out a pattern that was perfect from Fortunoff's. I had looked at the website & saw the same pattern & liked it but never said anything to her. They got us service for 12 as well as a chest to keep it in.

I didn't register for silver. My grandmother had it and I remember my mom and aunt having to polish it all the time bfore it was going to be used, so I didn't want the bother. I just regsitered for the expensive stainless steel flatware to you with our fine china and my mother already bought us the whole set.
