Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

Well I didnt get my gown there but we went there and ordered the BM dresses there. Big selection, good prices, close to Penn Station BUT the girls running the dressing rooms were SO RUDE! I wanted to slap them all! They kept trying to kick my girls out of the dressing rooms. First of all they werent finished and second, there was NO ONE waiting.

But the dresses came in about 2-3 weeks early, and they were in perfect condition.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

Well, I got my dress there and my BM dresses there and have been there numerous other times with friends trying on gowns as well as MOB and MOG trying on gowns and they have always been extremely nice. And I've used all different people so it's not like I got lucky with any one person.

My dress came in 2 weeks early and they were so great about everything. They're very professional and their prices are great. I highly recommend them.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I looked for my dress thre. It was my first stop & I was alone, so it was overwhelming, but they have a huge selection.I was going to come back, but I found something before that.

I got my bridesmaid's dresses there. They were OOT ,so they didn't try them on,I picked it & one tried it on near her & I ordered them via fax from RK & the dresses came promptly.

I bought my dress there. They told me it would come in about 4 months and it came in 1. The seamstress was so nice and did a great job. I saved $400 on my dress there. I would recommend them.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I ordered my dress there and I have to say they have a HUGE selection. The woman who worked with me was very nice and helpful, and as I was about to leave, she said, let me just get you one more dress I think might look pretty on you. Sure enough, it was 'the one' !!

I am also the MOH in another wedding, and when I went with that wedding party, the girls who worked there were a little less helpful. They were a bit rude, but it wasn't really a huge deal. I think on the bride side of he place, they tend to give better treatment.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

My mom got her dress for my brother's wedding there. She loved the dress and it came in really quickly, but she wasn't happy with the alterations. They have my dress for about $100 cheaper than I paid at another (full-service) salon, but we didn't get it there b/c of the alteration issue. I wanted a little extra work done to my dress (it has a slit in the back that we're having filled in with fabric), and we didn't feel confident that they would do a good job with it. Plus, doing this entailed ordering extra fabric from a different manufacturer (Maggie Sottero apparently doesn't sell extra fabric), and we didn't think the salesladies there would be so helpful in figuring out how to do this.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I'd like to get the scoop about this place. They gave RK Bridals an A in a book called 'Bridal Bargains' Courtesy of another bride here (WCO43) that soooo nice to share it and send it to me.

Please keep them coming.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

i got my dress from there and my bm dresses from there. the place is huge and has an amazing selection, so if you go bring pictures of what you like. My dress came in 3 weeks late, but i ordered it so early it didn't matter. My bm dresses came in 2 weeks early. Both dresses came in perfect condition. Some of the people that work there are not that nice but for the most part I have had good experiences there! I would def. recommend going there and checkng it out but if you go on a weekend... go early!! good luck!

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I got my dress thier too- the selection was unreal. Its much more sane during the week. Nicole helped me find the right dress for me-
I highly recommend her as well.

As far as alterations- They charge 275. cash including your bustle. I feel that my dress is big in the rear and theya re charging me 100. extra and calling it custom.
I don't even have the strength to fight anymore- I have bigger fish to fry.
As long as it looks good in the end- I 'm ok.
I have done 2 fittings so far.

MY MIL bought her dress thier as well and I really love it.

The lady that helped me find my shoes was also very helpful andI bought my tiara there.

they give you 10% off your tiara, veil , shoes if you buy your dress there.

Sorry to go on and on but want you to get the whole picture.

Did I say donot go on the weekends? Its crazy then

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I actually just picked up my gown from RK Bridal today.

I think it is a great place to go b/c the prices can't be beat and they have a huge selection. My recommendation is to go on a weekday at 11am (which is when they open) and ask for Gilda to help you out. The only day she doesn't work is Thursday. She is this tiny older lady who has been in the bridal gown industry for years and knows what she is talking about. When I started looking I thought I had an idea of what I wanted - she let me try on whatever I wanted, even if she didn't think it would flatter me and was right every time. I ultimately picked my dress based on her recommendation and it was a dress I never would have looked at otherwise. But, from the second I put it on, I knew it was the one. One of my coworkers had an equally good experience with her.

I ended up ordering thru the no frills program, so I am not getting my alterations done there, but I saved a lot of money doing it that way. My dress came in 3 weeks early and in perfect shape.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I never went there, BUT my BM ordered their dresses on-line from there.
We shopped at local salons & tried on all the dresses we liked, then went on line at RK Bridal to see if they carried it, which they did. I called & got a price over the phone, then faxed the order in. They saved a lot of money and the dresses arrived in 9 weeks(much earlier then expected) They were neatly packed on hangers and perfectly assembled. I was so impressed! No wrinkles or creases.
Loved my experience. Also if you find it anywhere cheaper, they'll give you 5%off the cheapest price.(I found the dress even cheaper at HouseofBrides.com)
If you need anymore info FM me.

Re: Did anyone visited or got their wedding dress from RK Bridals in the city?

I bought my dress there. The selection is a bit overwhelming, as are the crowds on the weekend, but it's worth it. I don't know if they always have this, but when I was there, they had a rack of sample dresses at 50%+ off the price. I ended up buying my dress off the rack at 75% off the list price. The saleswoman in the dressing room was very helpful and let me try and retry on many many dresses.

I also have gotten a bridesmaids dress there for a wedding I was in. Again, great selection and the dresses came in early.
