Did anyone's invites require more than 60 cent stamps?

I think mine are made out of lead!! I need 83 cents on those suckers!! The guy in the post office told me he never seen such a heavy invite!
But YAYYYYY they are going in the mail tomorrow. They arrived yesterday and I stayed up to 3AM stuffing them with my cousin. I'm so excited!!

83 cents..

holy sh*t!

What's in them? DO you have two envelopes, both lined.. that can add to the weight.

$1.08. I used three .37 cent stamps cause I liked the pink flower ones. All my friends said they thought they were getting a brick in the mail!

Congrats on stuffing them!

Thanks everyone! I'm really excited about the invites. They look lovely. They came yesterday (FINALLY!) and I actually banged them all out in one night (thanks to my MOH). It wasn't easy, I've got a lot of components going on in these things. A pouchette, a ribbon, a closing sticker, a RSVP set, a reception card, an accommodations and directions card and the invite intself. I guess that explains the heaviness. I already bought 140 60 cent floral stamps last week, but I did weigh them until today (I'm a genius I know). I didn't like any of the 23 cent stamps, so I bought the 37 cent floral stamps. But now I'm upset because the colors of the flowers don't really match eachother. One is peachy and one is pinky. Yes, I do realize I'm being incredibly anal and ridiculous so I'm letting go of this...I am at peace with my mismatched stamps....

I will post a pic of my invites as soon as I recharge the batteries in my digital!

A brick! I was very picky with the card stock. My pet peeve is floppy invitations. Ours were very thick almost cardboard which could not be bent. Then we had an inner envelope and a tri-fold direction card, plus reception and response set. I know! I almost died when I heard how much. I knew it would cost alot cause the paper was heavy, but it didn't hit me until I placed the order at the post office for over 1300 stamps including inner envelopes!

You're crazy!

And so are you Evenedan, your wedding is so close!! And everyone throws away the envelopes so its not worth banging your head against the wall. Of course, I'm sure you've already done that plenty so I guess my advice is a little late...

I used the mis matched flower stamps too, but for outer & response. I think those shades of peach & pinck look fine together.

Mine were .83, too.

Well maybe not, but all that hard work paid off right? *I* wanted to go to your wedding, even though I had plans that day!

Goyls (I mean LADIES),

2 recent weddings I'd been to had 83 cent stamps and my coworker's was the same (her wedding's a week before mine). I figured mine may be, too, but b/c mine were not very long, it came to 60. Actually, one place said 60, but the P.O. by my home said it came to 37!! but they suggested the 60 to be safe. I'd rather that than get returned envelopes saying 'Returned due to lack of postage!' Oy, can you imagine?!

We are not even close to ordering invites but I got an .83 invite recently.

The contents:
heavy card stock single panel invite (about 5 x 7)

directional card about 4 x 6 (card stock)

tissue paper (for the printed directional card)

RSVP card w/ envelope & stamp (single panel card stock)

lined second envelope (red lining)
