I got into a car accident today. Nothing major but it really shook me up and the back of my car is pretty messed up.
So, the woman was on the way to the hospital to see her dad. DH and I waited with her for an HOUR for the cops to come. I was literally shaking and I had to pee so bad ( lol nervous pee!) so i called 911 again and apologized and let them know that I would not be there and not to send anyone. They said they were still sending someone so we waited a little longer but it was in a bad neighborhood and I didnt feel safe there, even with DH and I didnt feel it was necessary to hold up this woman any longer - yes i know she hit me but she was so apologetic!
Anyway, we left and I have to call insurance tomorrow . . .can I get into trouble for that? I feel bad but I have heard of people waiting THREE hours!!!
Oh yeah and my neck is FREEKEN KILLING ME!!!!!!!!! i think i am going to go to the doctor tomorrow DH wants to take me to the hospital but I am not sitting there for ten hours for neck pain.
Anyway, thanks for listening and any advice.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I have no advice on the leaving thing but I do want to say to make sure that you go to your doctor. I hope that you don't wake up in serious pain today

Yikes Matilde! Glad it wasn't too serious... hope your neck is OK.
Exchanging insurance was the best thing to do. The only thing that might screw you in the end about not waiting for the police is if this woman tries to pull one over on you and say it's your fault. Since there is no police report, it your word against her's. I'm sure you'll be fine though. Good luck!

I'm so glad that your ok but I would go to the doctor and get yourself checked out to make sure your 100% ok.

I am so sorry about what happened!
First things first....call your insurance company!!!!!
They will tell u what to do.
Also when u go to the dr, u may need your claim number...not sure...I cannot remember what I did.

i feel okay today, a little sore. of course i forgot ALL my stuff at home so i cant call the insurance company until tomorrow.
DH made me drive today even though I didn't want to. I have horrible driving phobias SO he said that if I didn't start right away that it would be too hard for me to drive again.
I drove VERY slowly in the rain, LOL.

Hope you are feeling better. I'm sorry that you had this accident. Just file the police report and call your insurance..that's your best bet.
You DH was right to make you drive right away. I completely understand driving phobias, because I have them too.
