Did I miss something........

Ladies who is seating your guest at the ceremony? Is this the responsibility of the groomsmen or someone else. I don't want a ton of extra people in the ceremony. Please help only two Weeks left.

I figured the guests would seat themselves....

if you have ushers they seat guest-groomsmen can do it too. but honestly i have not been to that many weddings- the few i have been to-i sat myself - how can 2 guys possibly seat everyone without them all getting cranky in the lobby. also i bet my rh where my ceremony is would hurry people along-we dont got all day for seating. also, i cannot picture fh goofy friends arm and arm seating auntie on the 'right side' with the right arm' just let em sit whereever in my opinion!!

At most of the weddings I have gone to...the groomsmen serve as the ushers while the groom and best man wait aside. The GM seat the guests depending if they are on the brides/grooms side and then escort the BMs down the aisle and the MOH walks alone because the Best man is up front with your FH.

Groomsmen = Ushers. They seat the guests.

I've never been to a wedding that had separate ushers (or where the guests seated themselves).

Yep....

this is what i did. and it's helpful becausetogether, most groomsmen know the guests...and know whetheror nto that go on bride's side or groom's side.

for ours, we just had our groomsmen ( except the best man- he stayed with DH) seat the guests, or they seated themselves...... thats how its been at pretty much every other wedding i've been to, too.... don't panic!!

Ive been to a lot of weddings and Ive always sat myself, IIve actually never been to a wedding where a grommsman or usher sat me... I think its easier for the guest to just seat themselves and prob faster

Have the tables numbered and when the people come in they have their name with the number of the table that they are seated at and they seat them selves.

It's supposed to be the groomsmen's job. When they greet a guest they don't know they are supposed to ask who's side they are a guest of...

I think you should use the groomsmen. I know at least 2 gms that wouldn't want to do that...I'll just use the other two. I went to a wedding where guests just sat themselves...Actually the person at the hall had guests sit themselves, and it was a catastrophe.....There were guests everywhere! where they shouldn't have been! LOL

Good point - the best man doesn't seat guests. He stays with your FH!
