Did I overpay for my DJ

We are paying $2000 for our DJ which includes DJ and MC
ceremony music, cocktail hour music and 4hr reception. Total of 6hrs.

Started to second guess, when I see that people are paying less....

Its going to vary.. if it makes you feel better I am paying $2800 for:
-Only 5 hrs of music
-Medium giveaways
-Trumpet and Percussionist Musician

I don't think SO I think that's pretty Good I am paying 2,400 for cocktail hour reception DJ MC
party favors and truss lighting and plasma TV'S I am thinking about adding the customized gobo but its extra so I think they all range within that ball park

I am paying $1000.00...I didn't get a MC because Vinny from high Voltage does all the annoucments that I want. I don't want someone pulling people out of there seats.

That's less then what I'm paying, but I'm also getting live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour.

That price sounds very fair...in fact, it's a bit less than what we're paying for the same number of hours!

I work directly with a DJ company and that is a SUPER price. Remember, look at what you are getting--some people are doing much smaller packages

There was a reason you picked the DJ in the first place. Music is a really important part to the wedding. I think that is a good price! I am paying $500 less, but we are not getting the ceremony music, since we are getting married in a church.

The above was my response to this post...I don't know about you girls but I just received forum mail form a DJ who is a vendor on here insinuating that this is too much to pay and saying 'If you compare apples to apples, then yes, most people overpay.'

Totally unsolicited and in my opinion a rude thing to send to someone who clearly has already booked a DJ and didn't ask fro an opinion...Just pi**ed me off so I wanted to post this!
