So I was thinking about when FH and I first got engaged. I remember me saying that I would never spend more $ for a Saturday night wedding, will not be doing favors, will go cheap on invitations, get all low CP, No VH, and get an affordable dress, will not have anymore than 150 people (max)...
and I was actually doing good at first...until Liweddings became my life and I begn to look at all the pretty stuff everyone else has.lol. All of a sudden the 'unecessary' became a 'must'. lol. I swear I never thought that picking invitations, bridesmaid dresses, etc. would take me months to figure out. I have gone back on my word on almost everything!
Anyone else in the same boat?

LIW gave me excellent suggestions and my most favorite wedding item was something I saw on LIW (chocolate menu). So I guess I did spend more money because of the site but never once did regret it!
I also did boudoir pics because of LIW and my DH LOVES them. No regrets!

I think LIWeddings actually helped me not go overboard and get the most for my money. I did get wrapped up in all the I need these. But I went cheap in invites and splurge on other things like the food and entertainment. I think chatting with the women on this site helped me figure what was important to me and find great deals!
ETA: I also learned that Ebay has some amazing items and I was surprised at the variety of things on sale that I would never have thought would be on sale there.

I am so glad I booked all my vendors and did a lot of my own research before finding this website because seeing how beautiful everyone's wedding is, I would have definitely made me spend more money. When it comes to things like favors, oot boxes, menus, I've totally gone overboard after seeing ideas on LIW. I also would not have done any DIY projects, I would have just purchased everything. I think its sort of addicting to look at weddings, it gave me so many ideas I would have never thought of on my own.

I don't think so. I always knew what was most important to my wedding and it was the food and the band. I think LIW helped me negotiate with vendors and know that I didn't over pay for anything. I was told my flowers would be about $8,000 because I was limited to the florist I could use. When hearing what everyone else was paying for flowers, I set a price and stood to it.
So I think LIW helped me alot...oh, especially about my veil too -- I would never have known about barons.

LIW is great because it gives you so many ideas. it's hard not to get wrapped up in the craiziness and spend all this extra money to make your wedding have all the extras.
i think i found a balance. I wanted certain things, but I didnt want to pay $$$ for them. So i would do DIY or I would find something cheap or cut it completely.
like my unity candle, I learned about the ceremony through LIW (never saw it done) and I saw all these girls buying monogramed candels and I would look at candles in stores and they would be like $30. I was like screw that. I bought ivory tappered and an ivory pillar for like $6 all together at Ikea. nothing crazy and that was it. it worked fine and no one noticed that it didnt have our names on it

Not at all. I didnt use any liweddings vendors except Thomas Paul. Everything else I budgeted. I used friends for the flowers and my make-up and used my own hair girl for my hair. I also used Ebay for anything I could think of. LIWeddings actually opened my eyes to how much certain vendors OVER CHARGE just cause its a wedding! Like hair and make-up! Its insane to me the difference of what I paid to what some other girls pay. Im definitely not judging because its our wedding and we all need to do what we have to do to make it feel perfect but I couldnt spend that much.

LIW actually helped me save money. Before this site, I never shopped at Michaels and AC Moore. I knew nothing about the coupons. Also the ladies on here are so creative. I never knew how computer savvy I could be. I have done everthing myself so far. I never even heard of pocketfold invites before and now I am in love with them. Just from someone else's post I learned about wedplan.net and I was able to meet great vendors who met MY criteria for price and services, not the other way around. So I'll say it again LIW helped me save money and become a more creative crafty person.LOL

i found a amazing photo/video vendors b/c of this site - i am SO glad that i did because if i found them after i would have been so disappointed - im glad i have the opportunity to have them shoot our wedding...
i got two hair pieces from thomas knoell - probably wouldnt have gone that route either if it wasnt for LIW
besides that i think everything would have been pretty much the same.....
our wedding budget doubled though but not because of LIW - thats because we are crazy hahaha

I def. went over budget, but at the same time Liweddings (you girls) helped me figure out who/what to spend my money on. After reading some of the reviews and seeing the pics I knew that they came well recommended. I can honestly say that even though FH wants to kill me b/c we spent so much $, I can sleep at night knowing that my vendors are excellent. Thanks girls!

i spent more money then i thought i would but only because LIW opened up my eyes to things that i didnt even know i wanted! but it was things that i hadnt thought of. i hadnt been to a wedding for a long time so it reminded me of things that should be included.

not really, it gave me alot more ideas and how to DIY things which actually helped me save money.
Im glad I found this site. SO many people complimented things I had and we did at our wedding. I wouldve been lost without this site!!!
I also knew what was most important to me. I didnt get carried away with having some stuff that wasnt in my budget and if I wanted it I found a way to make it happen within our means

i think liweddings definetly opened my eyes to so many cool ideas that i would have never thought of on my own- i mean who would think to get a photobooth, a truck filled with white castle to end the night, belly dancers to entertain at the cocktail hour or a grooms cake to be made in the shape of my dog- i want EVERYTHING!!!

LOL I think so...but I have no regrets...were it not for liweddings, I never would have gotten all my DIY ideas, known about OOT buckets, and donations in lieu of favors. I could never have planned my wedding w/o it!!!!

Absolutely! I never would have had these favors, or other DIY's. I spent the money on my vendors and invites before LIW, but they def added with candy bars, slipper baskets, wine bottle favors, etc., etc., etc.
