Someone at work asked me if she was invited to my wedding..and since I was put on the spot..I invited her. Now..for whatever reason she no longer speaks to me, and even goes so far as to give me dirty looks. (Just for some background, I work with a bunch of immature women who get off on gossiping and have what I consider to be a cult because they all talk about each other). Anyway...I'm just wondering why the hell she asked me to invite her in the first place if she was going to turn around and decide to never speak to me again. I'm 100% better off..this I know because the girl has ISSUES..but I guess it just bothered me somewhat. I don't have the patience to deal w/phony people.

i cannot stand phony people either. i understand how you feel; i invited a coworker just like that to the wedding. people are weird. did she rsvp yet?

Nope..and I'm glad because I was going to tell her I didn't want her there. She didn't respond at all..along with another girl who was invited (who she hangs out with). They just all of the sudden stopped speaking to me...JEALOUS!!!!!!

women are catty b*tches...anyone who disagrees is lying to themselves...that said, sometimes you are the butt of jokes, sometimes you are the one making them...it's so 'middle school' but i've noticed that it's everywhere [regardless of how 'professional' the office/business]..we're all only human.
you have to learn to rise above and disregard the BS and learn to ignore it in a way that makes them wonder how you can be so confident...you just jump right in and act as if you don't notice their BS....throws 'em all off. if you visually ignore them by turning your head, rolling your eyes, walking away, etc...they'll knwo it bothers you. if you can just smile and keep going, they eventually stop and can't say anything b/c you are being too civil.
as for the wedding....don't sweat it...if she isn't speaking to you, she likely won't come.

Thanks!!! :) Honestly I pay them no mind..and that's what bothers them to begin with. This all started way back when ...since I don't 'hang out with them at the coffee machine 8 times a day'. Umm...I'm sorry I'm actually WORKING for my check. Besides the fact that I saw right through their B.S. and don't participate with them..they just can't stand the fact that I don't want to be 'in' their cult. It's not exactly a good thing to be a part of anyway...because the boss sees what they DON'T do...(work)..LOL! I walk with my head and nose up in the air..and I'd prefer they consider me conceited and anti social....than be affiliated with them. To think one of them is 37 years old!!!! GROW UP!!
I guess at first I was just surprised (why I don't know) because it's not like I did anything to her or them...but WHATEVER. Like you said..women (in this case girls) are very catty!!! MEOW!

Maybe she always knew that she wasn't invited,and just asked you spitefully to see what your response was. and b/c you agreed that she could come. She thought you were phoney, and figure why speak to you.

This girl actually took care of my dog for me for a while...when I was looking for an apartment..so that is not the case. She used to talk to me daily and even call me for advice. So that's DEFENITELY not the case. I think she just woke up one morning and said...ahh..I won't talk to her anymore. Like I said..she has ALOT of issues..and I think she's bipolar. It's unfortunate I have to sit behind her..but I just tune her out..or try to when she's not cursing and screaming at whoever she talks to on the phone. I'll be moving cubes soon..so thank god for that.
