Did yor parents/inlaws help you with seating?

Or did you do it strictly on your own?

DH and I did it all by ourselves.

I had help from my dad and my FMIL. FH and I needed help from them because we didn't know if some family members should sit with others.

I made an excel spreadsheet with all the different tables and I put all the names next to the table. Once I placed everyone then I showed it to them. I wouldn't let them do it from scratch.

We did our friends and my family, but FMIL did their whole side. We don't even know half the people they invited.

We did the exact same thing. But she discuss some of her seating with DH also and then just sent it to me.

No my BM and me and did it on our own. My MIL was driving me nut so to save myself from getting in a fight we did it on my own. My mother was allowed to give her opinion on where people should sit but in the end i was the one who had the last say in it.

they helped with the distant cousins, b/c we didn't know how to seat them...it was only 2 tables.

We also did it on our own. I was going to involve MIL in the seating arrangements - but didn't want to complicate things. DH worked out his side perfectly anyway.

We basically did all of the seating by ourselves. My family had more guests than DH's, so I ran everything by my mom to make sure the seating was okay.

I like this idea. This what FH and I will probably do.

I decided who got what tables, but let them decide who they would be sitting near.

I gave my FMIL FHs whole side to do! It was a huge weight off my shoulders and she was happy to do it. Of course, I ended up having to make minor changes, but it was so much easier that way!

I plan on giving out the family and friends of the specific parents so they can decide who sits with who, then I will decide what table in the room it will be.

Fh and I will do our friends.

We did & told them. FH's family was easily divisible into 1 table of family & 1 table of people we don't know.
My family was a little trickier, so I was sort of working it out out loud to my parents & came up with the solution on my own & they agreed.

My parents and my ILs helped us. My DH's parents are divorced so it was tricky seating people on their side. On my side it was no big deal. My mom wanted to put her friends up front and my friends in the back! Thats the pitfall of letting them help aka take over. LOL.

I was wondering about that...Is it more respectful to put your parents friends before your own in seating?

My mom helped with our family, but DH and I did his family. His family is really small, so it was pretty easy.

My parents did our family and family friends, his parents did his, and DH and I did our friends.

We did, so they'd be near our parents, but we only have 1 table each of freinds/family of parents.
