or do you think you will learn anything new about yourself or others while planning your wedding.....
.I learned very quickly that YOU can never make everyone happy
.That many people are happy for us and some people are not
.I've learn that not everyone will cooperate with things you want done and you just can't 'sweat the small stuff'
.I've also learned that you must chose your battles with everyone (including with my FH)
.I have learn to finally put myself first and make decisions that make ME and MY FH happy not others
.I've learn how to save money for things I really need, rather then spending on things I really want
.I've also learned that planning a wedding is supposed to FUN and EXCITING and people will try and ruin it - But you can't let them
Wishing you all happy planning....Lets get this thread started......Really think about this one - because alot has changed me in these past 4 months I've been engaged. Just wondering what it has done for you.....

Re: Did you...
This is very insightful! Thanks for sharing!!!
I've learned that in spite of everything happening all around you, it is not going to be possible to control everything, but as long as I have a grip on what is important, it's ok to let the less important things spin!

Re: Did you...
Yes I have learned some things and they aren't too pleasant...shame on me!
I'm totally the opposite of the things you wrote and I never realized all of this stuff until wedding planning. This has been a self-improvement lesson for me!
1. I'm inconsiderate....I take the saying 'it's all about me' to whole new level. 2. I'm a total control freak 3. I act, then think about it, not the other way around 4. I do not know how to listen
I'm sure I've always been this way but now I just actually see myself in action. I am such a jerk! I'm working on it!! I'll be better! The last thing I've learned:
5. I am very lucky to have found someone who tolerates my nonsense! (Pre-cana should be a hoot!)

Re: Did you...
I've learned to keep FH out of the planning process...he only complicates things. Otherwise it has been great so far.

Re: Did you...
I agree with what you wrote! It is impossible to plan and have everyone think that your decision is good. I have had everyone in my family since the start of this be negative about one thing or another...it has made me paranoid that I am making all the wrong decisions! However, you have to really try to look past that and know if you are doing what you really want and have dreamed of...that's all that's important!
I have also learned...I can be quite the b*tch

LMAO! Hell yeah! I recently told him he wasn't invited to my wedding I also told him he doesn't have a clue about anything. Thank god he loves me and tells me that it is my day and he will do whatever I want to do.

Yes, I agree with everything you wrote. And you definitely find out at this time who is really there for you and who is not.

*The people who should be the happiest for you sometimes are the ones who arent.
* Its amazing how the people who don't lift a finger to help you have a large list of requests.
* That accepting change is a lot more easier than fighting it.
* If you smile and nod, people think you agree with them even if you know there is no way in hell that would happen (sometimes thats all they need)
* One you are the 1st one of your group of friends to marry... its hard to make your single ladies understand that you don't love them less.
