We weren't going to bother with either, but a friend bought us tiffany toasting flutes. We're not getting a cake set.

i actually planned to save money here and didnt buy them and didnt even register cuz i wanted other stuff more. someone ended up getting me the server set anyway.

it was very nice to use it but i still woulda been okay without it

My mom bought us our tasting flutes. Our cake server is still on our registry. If someone doesn't buy it for us I may just use the one the hall provides.

We are using a Nuernberg Bridal Cup which is a German Tradition. But then SIL 2 got me a set of Vera Wang flutes for my shower (not on my registry ) so I'll be using those as well at some point in the night.
We have a really nice complete silverware set that FBIL got us 2 years ago. There's a cake serving set in there that we're just going to use.

Yes I did. i didn't wanna get stuck waiting to get it at a shower that I have no ides when it is going to be or if anyone is actually going to purchase them.

my grandma asked me if we wanted to use the cake serving set her and my grandpa used so i'm DEFINITELY going with that.

i'm not buying toasting flutes.

total waste of money in my opinion (for us anyways). one of those pretty things you just dont 'need' and i dont have money to blow on those things.

I'm not getting toasting flutes (unless someone gets 'em for me)...it's not something we'll ever use again.

A cake server though - totally. We registered for one, but no one bought it, so we'll pick it up next week. I really want one. I cook and bake a lot, and over the years I'd always see my mom use her set from her wedding when people came over, and I want to do that too.

i only bought a cake server.. gorham ,Lenox carries it.

i want the swarovski flutes but they are wayy too much $$... id rather get an animal figurine instead lol
