Did you tip the people who did your makeup/hair trials? If you did, how much? I just feel like with all the trials- it can really add up!

I did. I work in a tip based industry also, and I believe if someone performs a service for you, you should show your appreciation for them monetarily. I also don't plan on doing more than 3 trials.
Remember, the amount you pay for the actual trial isn't pure profit. It pays for the supplies, the electricity, the water, the rent, etc.
I'm not saying you need to shell out hundreds of dollars for the trial, but even $10 can show your appreciation for the work. And just remember, when you try to book, the hair and makeup people have the prerogative to not book you if they don't think you'll tip them on the day of.
Just my opinion, though.

i tipped $10 for my makeup trial because I really loved how it came out... haven't done the hair trial yet, but if I feel the same way, probably around ten bucks.. I think 5-10 is good, just like what you would tip your normal hair lady

I tipped 18% for both my hair & makeup trials. I booked them both on the spot and only had one trial, so I knew I wasn't going to have more trials.
Like sgf2, I also work in a tip based industry and I personally feel that if you feel someone does a fantastic job, that is the best way to show you appreciate their work/effort.

I always tip between 18-20% and honestly if I can afford more at the time I will give more. These people work for their tips.

Re: Did you...
I think it depends where you go for your trial. If you go to a salon, I would tip. If you go to someones house, I would not tip.

Yes, definitely. The one I picked spent hours with me AND drove me to the train! LOL. She definitely got a nice tip!
