Did you bring your Future Mother in Law...

...to one of your dress fittings?

I am scheduled to have my first fitting on June 8th ( Yay!) but I am not sure yet if I want my FMIL to come. I love her to death and would really, really love for her to see me in my dress, but I'm afraid I'm going to hear or even see a small glimpse that maybe she doesn't like the dress (she's very traditional). She was even shocked that I found it too soon (like I didn't shop around enough).

I don't know, yes we have 2 totally different tastes/styles but I think she'd be happy to see me.

I'm torn!

Ha - I wish I could say the same about mine...Mine's getting on my last nerves...You can give her a choice if she wants to come, but be prepared for her to perhaps voice her 'traditional' opinions.

i would ask her to com, im sure once she sees you in it she'll love it! also, even if she doesnt isnt it kinda better she makes a face at the fitting rather than the day of? lol

I'm hoping if my mom's there she won't voice TOO many opinions : ) LOL

after I ordered my dress my FMIL came to see it.

Mine was actually with me while I looked for dresses She's in Florida though, so she won't be able to be there for any fittings.

she came with me and my mom to look for dresses. She is hard to gauge so I couldnt tell if she loved it or not but oh well its my gown!

I invited my FMIL to my dress fittings. I really wanted her to see my dress. She thought my dress was too plain but then when she saw how my face lit up when it was pinned for the bustle, she was ectstatic that I was so happy.

Yea I asked mine and she said it's bad luck for the grooms family to see your dress- and i'm like WHAT? Is she serious??? I just wanted her to be involved you know, since she doesn't have a daughter of her own...so I'll scratch that. She's not coming - she'll probably tell FH by 'accident' how my dress looks like so nevermind.
