I know a few people that had them. I think they were told that it was a good idea so they just put them on there. To me, if someone is going to buy you a gift card, there going to buy you a gift card. They don't need to be told that you want one. That is kinda a no brainer no?

I've seen it. I think that the stores recommend it just in case things are outside peoples price ranges, at least they know that they can always get you a gift card

We have gift cards on our registry thanks to the consultant. The funny thing is that a few people have bought us gift cards but NOT from the registry

Us too! I swear akaMrsT, we are sisters or something. You seem to be going through the same stuff as me.

I was told if you register for gift card at BB&B, you can return things that were purchased from your registry without a receipt and they will give you the cash amount it was purchased for instead of store credit

yes. On both of my registries, there was a check box (online) that we checked letting our guests know that gift cards were also appreciated.

Same here. We didn't request certain cards for certain amounts, we just checked a box saying we would receive cards if that's what someone wanted to give.

Yes i have seen this. If you go online to your registry there is an option you can click to say you would accept gift cards. I clicked it bc i know that sometimes people prefer giving those.

I've seen it on registries, and we did it but then took it off b/c we had our HM Registry.

My friend is doing that. They registered for $25, $50, $100, $250 gift cards at BB&B, on top of all the appliances and whatnot.

Too bad we can't register for gift cards at places we REALLY want to shop at!

Yes, BB&B does them. I think it's good because some people might not think the bride wants a gift card. So it serves as an alternative if they can't find anything on the registry. I added them to mine.

At BB&B they recommended we put them on, so I did.
