Did you get a hall quote $110 per person?

Last night a friend of mine said she has 48 hours to decide if she wants to book the Watermill for a Sat night next year at $110 a person. She asked me to find out if there are any other halls that are quoting that much that she should be looking into before she makes the decision.

Can you guys give me some suggestions?

She looked at Fox Hollow and East Wind.

Thanks!!!

IMO, I wouldn't go w/ them just b/c of the pressure they are putting on her! No one ever gave me a 48 hr deadline!

i think she is lucky that they are holding the date for her. honestly no other halls would do this without a deposit.

I don't think that $110 for a Sat. night is that much. If she loves the hall she should book it. But I do believe there are plenty of other halls around that price too.

Actually, quite a few halls do this for either 24 or 48 hours as a courtesy hold.

Sunset Harbour in Patchogue will book a Saturday wedding for $65.00 pp. They are excellent. Good Luck!

Ditto on that. I got the FH for $89 including tax & grat for a Sunday Night - It would have been around $120 w/tax and grat for a Saturday Night....

She should definitely take her time and look b4 committing to something.

they gave her 48 hours to decide? sorry, but that doesn't sound like it's such a great deal that they're putting pressure on her.

They may have someone else for that date and she may have been the first come...I think it's acceptable to have a courtesy hold but if you feel the pressue, then I wouldn't book it. There are so many great halls to choose from. If you love it and you are happy with what they are offering, then book it.

I think that it's a typical price for a Sat. night especially during popular months. I know that Villa Lombardi's quoted us about the same price (maybe a little more) for a Sat. night in June.
One of the first places we looked was the Miller Place Inn. She said she would hold the price + extras two weeks/. I think a lot of halls do this.

i agree- 110 is not too much for a saturday night-but there are others around that price... i think they are being nice for holding her date without a deposit...

I don't think that is a bad quote at all, and I also agree that someone else may have inquired about her date, etc. I never met with a hall that held the date for me.

I don't know if they are holding the date as a curtesy or if she signed the contract. It is NYS law that no contract is valid for 48 hours.

$110 is an average price...so if she loves it, she should book it.

Other places with similar prices are (depending on the time of year)

East Wind
Atlantis
Vineyard Caterers
Thatched Cottage
Tall Grass CC
Timber Point CC
Smithtown Landing
Hamlet in Mt. Sinai
and more!!

Hope this helps!!

$110 is a very fair quote for a Saturday night, however she shouldn't rush into a decision because they are giving her pressure. If she loves it, go for it, but otherwise keep looking.

If I remember correctly (but look it up to make sure) Tall Grass CC is off of Route 25 about 15 minutes west of East Wind. The venue is beautiful and the pricing is really reasonable!

Good luck! It is such a difficult decision

Tall Grass is in Shoreham (it's Lessing's run). I went to a communion party there when it was brand new (before Lessing's started hadnling the catering), and JMO, it seems like it would be small for a wedding.
