Last night a friend of mine said she has 48 hours to decide if she wants to book the Watermill for a Sat night next year at $110 a person. She asked me to find out if there are any other halls that are quoting that much that she should be looking into before she makes the decision.
Can you guys give me some suggestions?
She looked at Fox Hollow and East Wind.
Thanks!!!

Re: Did you get a hall quote $110 per person?
Our hall held our date with no deposit until we did a food tasting (for almost 2 weeks!). Our wedding is summer of '06 on a sat night and it's less than that. But, that's still a good price.

My hall held my date for a week, and if during that week, someone else wanted the date, we would have had first rite of refusal.
As for $110/head, Hamlet Windwatch and Hamlet Country Club were a little less than that.

ok I'm getting quoted that for 07, saturday night. So i think it should be at the very least $10 cheaper. Watermill is really nice but i think she should negotiate or look somewhere else if they don't lower that to at least 100pp.

also keep in mind that many halls are booked solid for saturday nights for next summer.
some were almost completely booked back in april when i was looking!
but she definitely shouldn't rush into anything. it's a big decision.

Lots of halls at that price for a Sat. night. did she get similar quotes at Fox hollow and East wind? I would bet East wind is higher. if she likes it , book it. if not, keep looking, there are tons of places at that price.

Honestly, if she discussed a specific date then they will hold it for 48 hours max. That's understandable. There are only about 50 Saturday nights a year and if someone comes in the next day, inquires about that date and wants to book on the spot... it's onlhy fair to the hall. If it's a specific date then that's not pressure.
They held my date for 24 hours and I was Monday, July 4th.

I had 24 hours to hold the date at Watermill but I got it anyway. Never was told the price would go up after 48 hours.

After upgrades and ++ we're paying $160pp for a Sat. Night in Sept. She's getting a steal of a deal. BTW, Watermill holding the date for 48 hours is a courtesy. I thought it was nice of them considering I didn't leave any money. I never felt pressured though.

Re: Did you get a hall quote $110 per person?
I went to a bunch of halls!! The most I got quoted was at the Crescent Beach Club for $155pp for a Friday night. (but I'm sure there are others) and Villa Lombardi's for $100. I would definitely keep looking because there are many halls for under $100 pp. But if you can afford it, and love it..then do it!
Sunset Harbour-$65 Crest Hollow-$75 Larkfield Manor-$75 Chateau La Mer $80
These are the only ones that I know of off the top of my head.

If she is unsure-whether it be price or she wants to look more I would not book JUST because they are pressuring her too
