Did you get your FI an engagement gift???

I wanted to when we got engaged and he told me not to spend the money but he actually mentioned something last night...kind of as a joke, but I still want to get him something. Did anyone do this? If so, what did you get? I am getting him cufflinks engraved with his initials for the wedding gift, so I need something other than that. Any suggestions? My mom said a simple ring, but he dosent wear jewlery (except for our wedding bands eventually)....also, he has a nice watch

I bought FH a Movado, if your FH already has a nice watch how about a digital camera, ipod, something for his car, a nice suit for your e-party ?

He has a watch, dosen't do the Ipod thing, I cant do ANYTHING to his truck cause he is very particular..I could possibly do the satellite stereo in it, but I wanted to get something more personal. We had an e-dinner..not so much an e-party....just our families together for a nice evening..so no gifts were exchanged or anything. But I am still feeling lost..what to do???

Hah hah My students asked me this...they were like well you got this ring..what did he get?? So I said 'well, I was his gift' they were very confused (2nd Grade BTW)
