I wanted to when we got engaged and he told me not to spend the money but he actually mentioned something last night...kind of as a joke, but I still want to get him something. Did anyone do this? If so, what did you get? I am getting him cufflinks engraved with his initials for the wedding gift, so I need something other than that. Any suggestions? My mom said a simple ring, but he dosent wear jewlery (except for our wedding bands eventually)....also, he has a nice watch

for his engagement gift I got him the Ipod hook up thing for the car, so that he can play it while he is driving. Not too expensive, but something I knew he wanted and was a little sad that he couldn't buy himself with our wedding expenses looming ahead of us.
I don't think we women should be the only on presented with something upon our engagement, even if it's just a token.

My FH already has a great watch (i bought it for his college graduation) - a tie tack (i bought that too) - and he has no use for cufflinks.
For an e-present, I got a baseball jersey that he wanted, and a new mitt. He just recently started coaching kids, and needed a new one! I'm also having his car detailed, but that's going to wait til May when there's NO CHANCE of more snow.

I am also doing cufflinks with his intitals, but since I'm getting them from work I don't consider it a 'true gift'...I'm hoping to be able to get him a nice Tag watch, of course I like the link and it's like $1500, which I don't have!

my boy doesn't really wear a lot of jewlery, etc. He doesn't go for cuff-links and the other 'traditional' items, so I got him a Nike Golf Driver that he had been coveting for.ever! I can't wait to give it to him :D

Funny, my intention was to get him a Rolex and one day we happened to pass by a jewelers and I pointed to the watch I was thinking of getting him. He responds, ' That's nice, but I can never see myself wearing a watch that expensive. What a waste of money!, Would rather give the money to the Tsunami victims'. Embarrassed, I replied, ' Oh you're so right!' Needless to say, I got my FI a pocket watch and saved myself the$$$$$.

I got FH a digital camera for an engagement present. I knew he wanted one and he was so supirsed that I got HIM an engagement gift. Geez, it was the least I could do :)
I really want to get him a wedding present - a movado watch that I know he wants, but we are so strapped for money right now. I am going to try and pull it off, but I don't know.
Another gift idea for you - my FH recently got Sirius satellite radio (like XM satellite radio) in his car and freaking loves it!! Its about $150 to install I think, and about $12 or $13 a month.

I bought my FH a new TV, He's not into jewelry (doesn't wear anything besides a sports watch). There was this TV that we had seen for months that he wanted. So when I got the feeling he was going to propose I started saving my money. He was so excited...lol
