a gift right after you got engaged? I was thinking this would be nice. So I thought of a vacation to a beach destination or a cruise. Any other ideas?

I was thinking a surprize trip to St. John, but FH wanted a 42in plasma, so he got that

I didnt get FH a present after proposing...I feel bad now.

But FH is one of those guys that like to spoil his well now Fiance and buy everyone else a gift instead of getting himself something. So he didnt want me to get him anything anyone- I was thinking of a Movada watch that he fell in love with but it is 2300$ and I dont got the money to put down right now with saving for an engagement party and a wedding lol

He will get a really nice wedding gft! Plus I am always thinking of him and generous and like to get him little things 'just because'

Since I didn't get a ring for our engagement, he didn't get a gift either.

We actually decided to use the money for a down payment on a house instead.

A nice watch, but I'd say less than half of my friends who have been engaged bought their FHs gifts. He always wanted a nice watch, and it was something I could do without putting myself in a hole. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bought him something.

i didnt either but the only thing FH wants is a supercharger for his mustang.. and hes not getting that!! haha He makes jokes about how many he could have bought with what he spent.. but too bad. the ring is a symbol of our life starting together.. the supercharger is a deasth trap he already can't drive his car in the snow.

i honestly thought about getting him something, but there really wasnt anything, he lives at home so a TV is out (plus he only watches science shows). he doesnt need a watch he got a rolex from his dad and a movado from his aunt and uncle when he passed his dissertation. so i was at a loss. But i dont think he really minds since we are saving for a house

I bought him a piece of art from the Bill Kinney Gallery in Sayville. His work is amazing... landscape photographs (mainly of the beach). I thought it would be something that he could appreciate forever.
