you know on those decorating shows the designer will pick up a small vase or lamp or piece of fabric and say...this was the inspiration...well did you have one? and what was it...
I am trying to figure out what to do with our living room....it seems that I should be working around our artwork...but I am not really inspired...
I'm going to go and take pictures of it..maybe you guys can help...
the ones on the left are from Madrid...that we just picked up...
the one in the middle was done of London by a friend of DH's parents in the 50s
and the ones on the right were also done by a pretty famous Parisian artist (again from the 50s) of Paris...also friend of DH's parents...
We like these b/c they are from cities that are in our heritage (when we go to Germany next year, we plan on getting something there - unless I can steal something from my moms house )
here are smaller prints from Madrid...they are on wall 'behind/to the side' of the other wall...so I thought that might blend...but is it too much?
what do I do...do I work off these pieces? and where do I start?

Re: SO HERE IS MY QUESTION:
The ones in the livingroom, are they all in the same frame?

Re: SO HERE IS MY QUESTION:
I might also start by pulling out a common color in the picture and work with that. Are you looking to buy new furniture, or do you need to work with what you have?
no...they are the same frame in groups though...the paris ones are the same...the Madrid ones are the same...and the small Madrid ones are the same...and the big one is its own
I'd like to keep the couch...its called 'mink'but it looks like a muddy green...
What we can change is ....coffe table...accent colors...window treatments...and we have to decide if we want to put down carpet, hardwood floors or tile
